The jury is still out about Mithali Raj's future. I think it needs to flexible, there might be some matches where she is integral, but against England, who have big hitters, she might not be the best option.

  2. Ind 117-4published at 35 overs

India pick up four singles off Sarah Glenn's fifth over.

There have been 140 dot balls so far. That's an awful lot.

Sophie Ecclestone has bowled twice to Harmanpreet Kaur in Test cricket and dismissed her twice. Has dismissed her twice out of four in one-day cricket, but none in four attempts in T20 cricket.

I have a theory - I think Sophie Ecclestone gets Harmanpreet Kaur out every time she bowls against her.

Brilliant insight from Alex. I always thought sides spoke about doubling their score after 30 overs, but that's a sign of the progress and change in power batting over the last few years.

We've reached 34 overs, so India, if they double their score, would make 226. They have a good bowling unit, but I don't think England would be phased about chasing that.

We talk about doubling the score after 34 overs in an ODI, and that doesn't leave India with very many.

I think India will he happy with 220 after this start.

  8. Ind 105-4published at 33 overs

A sign of India's intent, or lack of it, is that Sarah Glenn has only gone for 11 off four overs.

She's bowled tidely, but the tourists haven't tried to take her off her line and length at all.

India have too many anchors, and too many players who need time to get going, in the the middle order.

In case you're out and about and just checking in for the first time today, here are the four wickets that England have taken.

They are in complete control of this game.

It's painful to watch from Mithali Raj - there's no intent and she's putting so much pressure on everyone else. Her strike-rate was probably better in the Test match.

Better again from India, as they rotate the strike to pick up four singles, alongside a couple of wides from Sophie Ecclestone.

The left-armer has struggled with her a line a bit today.

Here's how England dismissed Punam Raut and Harmanpreet Kaur in quick succession.

  15. Ind 96-4published at 31 overs

That's a much better over for India as they pick up two singles, alongside the boundary. That's what they need to keep looking to do, a boundary and rotation of strike will take them to a decent total.

Sarah Glenn is wearing luminous pink nail varnish. It's the sort that wouldn't look out of place on the Ibiza strip, it's a sunshine colour, rather than the doom and gloom we've got in Bristol today.

Mithali Raj can do this, but it's almost as if somebody needs to tell her she can play expansive shots, which is ridiculous really.

  17. Ind 94-4published at 30.2 overs

Much better from Mithali Raj as she hits Sarah Glenn down the ground for four.

That intent is much more like it.

Lovely shot from Deepti Sharma - good use of the feet, getting to the pitch of the ball, and she hit it nicely.

  19. Ind 90-4published at 30 overs

    That's a shot!

Deepti Sharma comes down the track and whacks Sophie Ecclestone back over head for four.

There are 20 overs left. India are going to need to go at seven an over to reach 230. That's a minimum.

Mithali Raj deserves her place in this India side but this innings will not help her side win this game against England. You can't play like this (22* off 61 balls).
