India just starting to play a few more expansive shots but still finding boundaries hard to come by. A few nice drives beat the ring fielders but Ecclestone has Katherine Brunt patrolling the cover boundary.

The most outrageous moment.
I'm probably in contention for winning my own trophy.

If you have a trophy named after you, it doesn't have to be cricket related, what would it be?
Raut 23, Raj 17
Mithali Raj unleashes a bit of frustration at a wide ball outside off from Cross but misses and Amy Jones pulls of a wonderful take up to the stumps.
But the batter follows up with a lovely drive for four. She must have heard me asking when the last boundary was.
A cassette? What is that?

Depressing to read that Wannabe was number one when you were born Ffion - I was old enough to buy that single on cassette with my own pocket money!

A wide and a couple of singles off Ecclestone's first over. I can't remember the last time we had a boundary.
Time for some Sophie Ecclestone! She bowled more than an entire ODI innings in last week's Test so I hope she's had some time to recover.

Alex, that is childish.

I got a wide given against me yesterday that wasn't, that's one of the worse things.
I had a laugh and a joke with the umpire, and as the batters ran a single out to deep cover, the batters were deeply in the crease but I knocked the bails off and said 'Oh, I'm not allowed to pick that up because of Covid, you'll have to bend down and pick it up. We'll call it 1-1'.
Raut survives a leading edge that just pops up and lands short of cover.
A few more singles but you feel that India really need to start upping the run rate now.
There's a real mix of clothing choices out there. Heather Knight has opted for the long-sleeved jumper, whereas Kate Cross - in true northerner style - is just in the short-sleeved shirt. I must admit I'm with Heather on this one, and I'm from Wales.
Mithali Raj turns down an easy single, before claiming one down to third man.

That was a poor shot from Mithali Raj, she was just trying to push it through the covers, but the ball wasn't there to do that.
A close call for Mithali Raj as she pokes at a ball outside off stump and evades a diving slip.
They take a couple of quick singles and just slowly keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Anyway, less Spice Girls and more cricket. Here are those lovely cover drives from Poonam Raut.
Raut 20, Raj 6
Test Match Special are discussing the Top 10 in the charts when Mithali Raj made her debut in 1999.
I have no idea what it could be, but I know that number one when I was born was Wannabe by the Spice Girls. Iconic.

This is the passage of play that is really important for India, you don't want it to become a stalemate or for these two to use too many balls.
Mithali Raj has six from 20 balls. If she's going to play this anchor role, it feels as if Raut and the other batters need to play some shots around her, especially if rain comes in later in the day.
I really wouldn't want to be playing cricket today. It looks horrible out there, grey, cold and windy.
But Poonam Raut doesn't look too bothered as she carves yet another cover drive for four.
