  1. Ind 85-4published at 29 overs

The last thing India need right now is a run out. There's confusion between Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma as the former drives through point. They both set off for the second, but end up a good few yards down the track, before deciding it. Sharma has to dive back in to make her down.

This is Heather Knight's 50th ODI as captain. Only Clare Connor, with 66, and Charlotte Edwards, with 117, has more.

Deepti Sharma played a really good knock in the Tests and plays the sweep well. But the pressure is on now.

  4. Ind 84-4published at 28 overs

Heather Knight's captaincy has been faultless so far. She kept Kate Cross going and got the wicket, she takes her off and gets a wicket with Sophie Ecclestone.

Deepti Sharma blocks out her first four balls.

England really put the pressure on Harmanpreet Kaur by bringing the field in. You could feel the tension as Harmanpreet walked out to bat and she managed just one. England are all over India here.

    Kaur c Jones b Ecclestone 1 (Ind 84-4)

    India are in trouble.

The tourists haven't done a great job of reading the line so far today. Smriti Mandhana tried to cut a ball that was too straight, and Harmanpreet Kaur has done the same.

She tries to guide one down to the third region, but gets a thick edge, that Amy Jones does well really well to gather cleanly.

    England are on top.

Double spin for England as Sophie Ecclestone replaces Kate Cross.

There are key positions where Mithali Raj likes to strike the ball but she is hitting the ball straight to the fielders. It's been good from England.

  9. Ind 84-3published at 27 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur gets off the mark with a nudge for a single.

At the other end Mithali Raj is really struggling. She's striking at just 36.84 - that is nowhere near high enough.

Sarah Glenn is a brilliant player, every time she plays for England she gets wickets and bowls economically.

She is a fun, bubbly character and she deserves her place in this England squad. She was phenomenal in the T20 World Cup. She'll be perfect in weather conditions like these.

Sophie Ecclestone is going to be replaced by the leg-spin of Sarah Glenn.

  12. Ind 83-3published at 26 overs

The extremely talented and attacking Harmanpreet Kaur is the new batter.

She's got plenty of experience in England, and is set to play for Manchester Originals in The Hundred later this summer.

Anya Shrubsole preserves Kate Cross' maiden with an excellent diving stop at mid-on.

Cross deserved that wicket, she has bowled very nicely from that pavillion end.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 25.2 overs

    Raut c Ecclestone b Cross 32 (Ind 83-3)

The partnership isn't getting any bigger though!

Kate Cross is into her seventh straight over, which is some going, and she finally gets the reward her spell deserves.

Punam Raut tries to go over mid-off, but cloths it up for a simple catch for Sophie Ecclestone.

    Big breakthrough for England.

    Thanks Ffion.

This partnership is worth 56 now. They are doing a decent rebuilding job for India, even if it's not that entertaining. They'll be thinking about putting their foot on the accelerator in the next few overs, you'd think.

  16. Ind 83-2published at 25 overs

    Raj 21, Raut 32

Sophie Ecclestone gets through another quick over, which concedes another wide and a few singles.

We're halfway through this innings. Surely we've got to get a few fireworks from India now these two are set?

Here's Callum Matthews to take you through the second half.

  17. Ind 79-2published at 24 overs

India will need a few more of those. They'll need at least 240-250 to be competitive, you'd think.

I'd be aggrieved if I was Poonam Raut.

  19. Ind 78-2published at 23.3 overs

You can see why these two batters started off slowly - they had a job to rebuild after losing both openers.

But they do need to get a move on, and as I type this Poonam Raut unleashes an incredible shot over mid-wicket off Kate Cross.

TV replays show it bounced just - and I mean just - in front of the boundary rope.
