It's a risk to run a single like that to Jadeja, he's a great fielder and he won't like that.

Tom Latham is down the pitch to Ashwin and takes a tight single to India's superstar fielder Ravindra Jadeja. Is there a better fielder in the world than Jadeja? I don't think so.
I wonder if Michael Gough knows his Hartlepool side are 10 minutes away from a return to the Football League. He doesn't look nervous, both arms behind his back and eyes towards the floor as Shami strides to the top of his mark. Maybe he'll be told at tea, which is in 10 minutes.
The over brings a flurry of runs compared to what has come before.

Latham wasn't quite picking up the change in pace from Ashwin there, it was just a slight misjudgement but it'll keep the batsman thinking.
Latham 13, Conway 10
Gasps and groans from the crowd as Ashwin twirls away to Latham. These two are battling nicely.

You could make a TV series of just watching Virat throughout the day. His hands are up after every ball. Conway is hit on the upper thigh by one Shami delivery and in the India skipper comes from third slip. I assume he's having a word or two but I can't hear from behind the press box window.

Musheer: This is the most relaxed one has seen Virat in a long while. The intensity is there, but he is really enjoying himself. Hope that translates to a century in the second innings!
We may be on day three but the pitch is really only a day old. Ashwin fires the ball, a spinner always looks quicker live than on TV, towards the footholes but there's little turn. It's a maiden.
Here's Ravi(chandran Ashwin)...

The crowd here at Southampton are really getting behind Shami. There are definitely more New Zealand fans in today than the previous two but they're still outnumbered.
Wales will be fine, Ffion. Don't worry.
This is Mohammed Shami's first first-class spell since Christmas. It's a good one too. Devon Conway skews a shorter ball over gully.
Latham 11, Conway 9
Nope, it's still Sharma, who concedes just one more run from his seventh over.
Virat Kohli is caught on camera getting out some dance moves as the Indian fans continue to provide the musical entertainment.
Talking of entertainment, here's Matt Henry at the Hampshire Bowl to take over from me as I take a break to prepare myself for Wales v Italy in the Euros tonight.
Shami continues, a yellow flannel for drying the ball hanging distractedly from the back of his trousers.
Bowling very wide of the crease, he continues to test Latham's patience but he's happy to block out another maiden.
Ashwin was whirling his arms around very enigmatically towards the end of that over, are we about to see some spin? Or was he hinting to his captain?
Latham 11, Conway 8
Ishant Sharma completes his rain-affected over - a maiden.
Conway resists all the temptations offered outside his off stump.

I usually give umpires the benefit of the doubt but that was farcical. The covers spent more time being pulled on and off than covering the pitch.
The hover cover makes its way almost to the pitch, but as soon as it arrives the rain stops and it's sent on its way again and we're back.
Don't you just love cricket?

It's strange. It doesn't seem to be raining very hard.
And here come the covers, greeted by a procession of boos from the Indian fans in the crowd.
The Indian players aren't going anywhere but New Zealand's batters have made their way off. It's all a bit confusing.

There's some light rain falling. I think it's just a shower. There's blue that is coming in.
