No nightwatchman for Virat Kohli. Imagine if New Zealand can get him tonight?
India 64-2 at close of penultimate day - lead by 32
NZ 249 all out (Conway 54, Williamson 49, Shami 4-76) - first-innings lead of 32
NZ had resumed on 101-2 after rain delayed start by an hour
Day five of World Test Championship final at Hampshire Bowl; reserve (sixth) day available
Stephan Shemilt and Timothy Abraham
No nightwatchman for Virat Kohli. Imagine if New Zealand can get him tonight?
Rohit lbw Southee 30 (Ind 51-2)
Misjudgement!
Rohit Sharma plays no shot and is done by one that Tim Southee gets to come back.
No review. India effectively 19-2.

Is there only Garry Sobers memorabilia out there? There's just over 20 minutes left in the day's play.

Talk of memorabilia reminds me that as a 15 year old at Darwen CC I won a raffle for Gary Sobers' pads worn in his 360-odd at Melbourne (I think). In the days when owning pads was rare I played in them but they were left-handed and as a RHBat, needed to drag them around for protection. 4 years of wear (and tear) they were completely ruined and I left them in the school's bag. Dear oh dear. No letter of provenance is my only excuse.

Jamieson continues his marathon spell, producing a lovely out-swinger that goes past Rohit's tentative prod. There's a little word from Jamieson to Rohit, the big man standing mid-pitch at the end of his follow through. Terrifying.

Somehow managed to recycle a signed photo of the GOAT Sobers!! But, still somehow have a signed photo of Venkatesh Prasad. Go figure.
Sunny in Leeds.

Neil Wagner could be Kyle Jamieson's older, shorter brother. Blond, similar features. Whereas Jamieson cruises, Wagner bustles. A lovely shot of Rohit's hook shot sees spray fly from his bat in slow motion. Arty.

Test Match Special statistician
Cheteshwar Pujara is on a bit of a barren run. He has averaged just 28 in his last 18 Tests since August 2019. No centuries and nine unconverted half-centuries in that time. He also has a poor record against New Zealand's attack. Trent Boult has got him out five times for 136 runs, Kyle Jamieson twice for 21 and Tim Southee three times for 44 runs.

Jamieson is into his seventh over. Tuffers has just revealed that he almost threw away a bat signed by Don Bradman. Can you imagine? If you've ever accidentally got rid of a bit of memorabilia, let me know.

It looks like we may be fine with the light. I can see plenty of patches of blue sky around.
Neil Wagner is on to bowl some bumpers. Tuffers arrives on TMS and says he thinks the light is fading, but our man Matt Henry thinks differently...

For WTC final why don't they either have one "timeless" Test then weather is no issue and we definitely get a winner, or have best of three or five Tests.
Trev from Lancs
Jamieson concedes a single. Relatively expensive considering how he's been bowling. You could be sucked into the impression that this game is drifting, but India are effectively only 8-1. Bang, bang and they could be 10-3.
Lovely from Pujara, an on-drive from Boult's bowling is so smart you could wear it to a job interview. The lead is seven. We have about 45 minutes to go until the close.

David Wood: Should have played this match in Manchester - we've been sunbathing here for five days.

Jamieson is in a miserly mood. It's another maiden. He's conceded only five runs from his five overs. There's a chap playing the saxophone next to a drummer whose hands are a blur. The atmosphere is being cranked up again.

The World Test Championship final will have its detractors but we have some skillful bowling and some brilliant catching today which has showcased Test cricket in a positive way.

Virat Kohli is pacing up and down in the India dressing room, helmet on, ready to go. We hear the drum from the crowd for the first time in a while. Trent Boult tests Pujara with a couple of bouncers. Time for some Neil Wagner?

Despite all the talk of Test matches being T20-ified, this game of attrition has been most gripping.

Jamieson again. He could get work as a henchman in a Bond film. Even though it feels like India have taken the sting out of the situation, they only have a lead of three. Two or three wickets in the next hour would have them seriously under the pump.
