I'm going to join the players and grab a cup of tea as well. My colleague Stephan Shemilt, who once told me he considers a cup of tea a dessert, will guide you through the evening session.

Musheer: The culmination of a global championship should have been a best of three Tests. Takes care of weather issues and also gives teams a chance to come back from a bad day.
How valuable will those 30 runs from Tim Southee be? Here's a clip of one of his two sixes.

The speed deceived Southee. This one straightened slightly and he was unable to keep it out. It was a good innings by Southee. Those are 30 precious runs.
That's the tea break. An eventful session, compared to the attrition of this morning. The game has started to move along a bit now. Still finely poised.
Southee b Jadeja 30 (NZ 249 all out)
Tim Southee whacks Ravindra Jadeja into the stands but the spinner has the last laugh. The ball pitches, goes straight on and deflects off Southee's pads into the stumps. New Zealand have a lead of 32 runs.
Ravichandran Ashwin dashes through an over of spin before Virat Kohli hooks Mohammed Shami after just one over. Ravindra Jadeja is back into the attack

I love Trent Boult's batting. Real Steve Smith energy.

Kane Williamson faced 177 balls for his 49 before being dismissed by Ishant Sharma.

He gave himself room outside leg stump but still kept his eye on the ball. He has very good hand-eye coordination.

“Cricket’s coming home,” sing the New Zealand contingent…
With just one New Zealand wicket left to take the players will stay on the field and yet not break for tea. Trent Boult backs away from the stumps and Mohammed Shami, in search of a five-for, is sent back over his head for four. Off the final ball of the over Boult shuffles across his stumps a clips it through mid-wicket for two. The Black Caps lead by 25 runs.

Rory Manning: It would be very New Zealand to score 241 and draw in a Cricket World Championship final.

I think it's missed the gloves.
It was an awkward shot from the lanky Southee, and Virat Kohli took a clean catch at leg slip. But ultra edge shows the ball had struck Southee's pad so the decision is overturned.
Tim Southee is given out caught sweeping a ball from Ravichandran Ashwn, but immediately reviews.
Wagner c Rahane b Ashin 0 (NZ 234-9)
The left-handed Neil Wagner lunges forward to one from Ravichandran Ashwin and nicks into the hands of Ajinkya Rahane at slip.

That was Southee's 74th six in Test cricket. He's scored more than a quarter of his Test runs in sixes.

Southee is timing it well. Ishant is looking a bit tired.
Ishant Sharma feels the force of Tim Southee's long leavers as the Kiwi gives himself a little room and cracks a six straight down the ground. Southee did not quite time that, but threw everything at it and the ball just about crosses the rope on the full. Sharma attempts to second guess Southee's intentions with a few slow yorkers but they drift wide of leg stump. New Zealand lead by 17 runs with five minutes to go before tea.
