That will be sore. Don't rub it! Don't rub it! I'd have been crying.

That spat off the pitch but Ollie Pope managed to play that really well in the end. That wasn't that short and it rose up.
Ooofffttt!
Cummins gets one to spit, hitting Pope on the meaty part of the right bicep. That will leave a monster bruise. The sort that turns purple.

Stubbs: Surely it's a burnt duck?
Chris Painter: Lame duck?
For the third time since lunch, Pope drops into the covers and runs. The best way to bat is from the other end, etc...

That is a lovely shot. It was full and wide and Buttler got a good stride out to it and he'll look to put those away. There isn't much risk in those shots.
Have some of that. Driven for four. The Buttler counter-punch. Expect a swift 15, then head in hands.

That's what I was saying. He sometimes just doesn't get that front foot out and it was a tentative prod.

Jos Buttler has got away with that one. It was just over off stump.
Amazing to think this is Buttler's first Test in Australia. Playing the waftiest of loose shots, he almost loses his furniture to one that Hazlewood gets to nip back.

Jos Buttler has to get his feet moving here because England are in real trouble.
Jos Buttler brings the sunshine with him. Looking again, Hameed has played at one that was about the line of a sixth stump. Cummins has 2-17.

It was a great delivery.
Australia were guilty of bowling a little too short just before lunch and Haseeb Hameed was able to leave on length. That was angled in and it was the perfect fuller length - Hameed had to play it or it was knocking out his off stump.
I liked what I saw from Hameed there, though.

Recovery over.
Haseeb Hameed's judgement was near-perfect in the morning session, but here he's been suckered into playing by Pat Cummins. Very full again, but probably wide enough to leave. The edge is pouched by Steve Smith at second slip.

England were teetering but they have recovered a little bit.
The players are back out. Pat Cummins has the ball.
There's a little girl of a similar age upstairs in my house. I'm surprised my other half hasn't brought her too me yet.
Especially with the temperature yo-yoing.
