It's been a curious day of cricket. Both sides have sat in.
A half-hearted lbw appeal and a couple of plays and misses later, Marnus Labuschagne makes it through to the close of play on 95 not out having been dropped twice by Jos Buttler.
Steve Smith is unbeaten on 18 at the other end.
A tough day for England's bowlers.
Labuschagne 95, Smith 18
A maiden from Robinson means we have time for one more over.
Marnus Labuschagne is on strike. Shall I give it one last attempt? He's not looking like getting out any time soon.
(I think I've exhausted this one.)

I'd rather have him out.

England might want Labuschagne to sweat on 95 overnight.
Marnus Labuschagne seems adamant to not 'do a Warner'. He's still leaving the ball as emphatically as he was at the start of his innings, not tempted to go to his century in style.
This could potentially be the last over and Steve Smith is on strike.
Glenn McGrath
Ex-Australia bowler on BBC Test Match Special
It's a terrible feeling. At least when a batsman is out he can walk off.
Labuschagne 95, Smith 17
Oh, Jos Buttler. He's really taking some stick from the Australia crowd now - sarcastic jeers echo around the ground every time he touches the ball.

Arjun Singh: That’s me done. It’s over, England.
Charlie Thomas: That just sums up the entire day.
Just to rub it in, Steve Smith drives straight past bowler Ollie Robinson and who has to chase it down to save the boundary? James Anderson, of course.

That is almost inexplicable.
What an opportunity. How many times has it been said that England have got to make the most of the new ball and these conditions?
The chance comes and it's put down. Poor Jimmy Anderson. He so often seems to be the bowler on the receiving end of these.

It just looked like it has been a long day in the field, but this is the moment when you have to switch on.

That was a straightforward chance. It should have been taken. Dear, oh dear. What a drop. I can barely believe that.
I can't believe I'm having to write this.
Anderson finds Labuschagne's edge and it's a simple, simple chance for Jos Buttler behind the stumps and he drops it. How, I'm not sure.
But Labuschagne survives again.

England must get the overs in. In would be criminal if they miss out on two or three.
Labuschagne 95, Smith 14
Stuart Broad struggles to find the venom he had in his last over as Steve Smith drives a full delivery for four.
20 minutes' play left, which should be six overs.
Glenn McGrath
Ex-Australia bowler on BBC Test Match Special
The atmosphere has changed. The crowd is hushed. They know it's a big moment in the game.
Labuschagne 95, Smith 10
Steve Smith goes through his routine of bat taps, pad adjustments, shadow batting, you name it. Watching these two bat is never boring, let's put it that way.
This just feels like one of those key passages of play that we'll reflect on in a few days' time. If England can win this session, it could be crucial (likewise if they lose it, of course, but let's stay positive).

Suddenly, it's a different game.
