Labuschagne 85, Smith 5
Steve Smith calmly negotiates a maiden.
It's gone very dark in Adelaide all of a sudden with the floodlights beaming down. It's been said all day, this is the best time to bowl.
Stuart Broad is back. Will the short ball tactic continue?
Joe Root is going to continue to bowl after drinks.

Height has been the problem on almost every lbw shout.
Oooh, big lbw shout on Labuschagne but it looks high and potentially going down leg. Joe Root learns his lesson from this morning and decides not to use up his final review.
Time for a drink.
Want to see the Warner wicket? Of course you do.
So close again! Smith tucks one off his hip that bounces just in front of Haseeb Hameed at short leg.
Ben Stokes runs off in frustration.

The tactics with Stokes bemuse me. I think he's a good bowler. It seems strange to just have him bang it in and hope to have someone caught on the hook.
Hmm. The short ball has worked for England on occasion, getting Labuschagne in a few tangles.
But it does sit up nicely at times for him to thump to the boundary. Time for a change of tactic?
Steve Smith absolutely wallops a short ball from Ollie Robinson to the square leg boundary. I've said it already but he really doesn't look like getting out any time soon ...
Labuschagne 80, Smith 1
Appreciate it, Jonathan.
Oh, and there's so nearly another!
A short ball from Stokes has Labuschagne in a tangle (again) but the ball falls agonisingly short of Jos Buttler. Stokes looks in the mood for one of his spells where he Makes Things Happen.

Adam Edwards: Much as I'd much prefer England got him in single figures, it is quite funny that Warner keeps on getting out in the 90s.
Jonathan Dale: That has to be simply the best mockers by a live text I've ever seen by Ffion. Seconds, SECONDS after "not really looking like getting out any time soon" Warner goes. Well played. Well played.

This is England's opportunity. They need to get Labuschagne off strike and have as many balls as possible at Smith.
Honestly thought I'd done it for the second time there. England go up for a catch behind the stumps but there's no edge.
As predicted, a wicket has given England a real boost. They're buzzing around in the field which could also help their over rate. Everyone's a winner.
I'm glad someone noticed. Thanks, Paul.
Steve Smith has one run to his name and is not really looking like getting out any time soon.

Nice work getting Warner out Ffion - can you now post ‘Smith not really looking like getting out anytime soon’ please?
Paul, Suffolk
The last ball of Stokes' over was a front foot no-ball so he has to bowl it again.
Let's just be grateful it didn't happen three deliveries ago ...

It's the 14th time in Test history that someone has been out in the 90s in consecutive innings. There's a statue at this ground of Clem Hill, who once had consecutive scores of 99, 98 and 97.
