Two overs to go, Nathan Lyon with the first of them. I think Joe Root will be refusing any quick singles.
Root 24, Stokes 3
That's a great response from Root, who clips two off his legs and then cover drives for two more. He's running a bit gingerly, to be fair.
Root 20, Stokes 3
The England captain is OK to continue, seeing the next delivery whistle past his off stump. Lots of smiles between batter and bowler, who gets a bat-pad in.
Lots of replays on screen, it's hard to watch...

Ex-Australia bowler on ABC
That's the ball you want to bowl to him. It will make him uncomfortable. He's going to be pretty nervous for the next few balls he faces.
Root takes a long drink as he gathers himself - don't forget, he was off the field earlier after a blow to the abdomen before play.
There's a few smiles from Stokes and Lyon, who'll be glad it's not them...
Mitchell Starc goes around the wicket and strikes Joe Root in the most painful place imaginable. Root rolls away in agony.
Root 20, Stokes 3
Ben Stokes has four men around the bat as Nathan Lyon sends down another fine over, getting the all rounder to play and miss at one.
Root 19, Stokes 2
What was I saying about the Australian keeper? Mitchell Starc cuts Ben Stokes in half with one that nips back over the wickets, and Alex Carey fumbles it. That's the first mistake he's made in a while.
Stokes has been in a grimly determined mood, and he has four overs today to get through.
Root 19, Stokes 3
Joe Root shoulders arms, walks across his stumps and sees the a sharply-turning ball from Nathan Lyon flick off his pads down the leg side. Steve Smith says "Howzat?" speculatively but no more than that.
Lovely stuff from Alex Carey as he takes one that turns and bounces past Joe Root's hip down the leg side. He looks to have taken to Test cricket like a duck to water, in front of and behind the stumps.
Root 18, Stokes 1
Still, I think that's a cut above just adding 'y' to the end of a surname.
Anyway, Stokesy negotiates that Mitchell Starc over nicely.
Root 18, Stokes 1
Gaz? Just in case you didn't know, Nathan Lyon is nicknamed 'Garry' in honour of Aussie rules football legend Garry Lyon. And that's about all I know about AFL...

Chris R: Root and Stokes to bat through the next two and a half sessions, heard it here first. We'll still collapse and lose, mind.
Root 18, Stokes 2
"Bowled Gaz! So good this, Gazza!" go the shouts from the close fielders as Nathan Lyon tests and teases Ben Stokes out of the rough.
Root 18, Stokes 1
Mitchell Starc is right on the money with his first over, a maiden that makes Joe Root think throughout. It's a double change, as Nathan Lyon replaces Jhye Richardson at the other end.
Root 18, Stokes 1
Mitchell Starc is back after an impressive five overs from Cameron Green.

Can't argue with that, TBH...
