Here's how Lyon accounted for Ben Stokes from a little earlier.
Glorious stuff from Chris Woakes as he crisply drives Michael Neser through the covers for four. An elegant shot any top order batter would be proud of.
Nathan Lyon had the spider camera dangled above him for a quick interview at the drinks break.
He said: "It was a good start and it's always a challenge to bowl to Ben Stokes. I had a plan and I was happy the way it came off.
"There's still two quality batters in but hopefully we can take the remaining four wickets and then have a few beers."

Ollie Pope had a complete technique when he first came into the England squad. Since then he's moved his guard outside off and back again.

Ollie Pope has a scrambled mind at the moment.

Ollie Pope won't have faced too many left-armers at that pace before but it's the shot of someone who doesn't know what to play and what to leave. Although Mitchell Starc has bowled very, very well.
Ollie Pope fell very early on today, when he edged Mitchell Starc into the hands of first slip. Could he have left it alone?

It's been tricky for England. They've set their stall out to bat all day but Australia have bowled nicely and started as well as they could've hoped.
A maiden from Michael Neser gets Australia to drinks in a position they will be extremely happy with.
Can England make it to the dinner break without any further loss?
"Did you manage to sleep with that ice pack down there last night, Joe?"
Back to the dismissal of Ben Stokes. Nathan Lyon had struck him on the pad three or four times, and there was inevitably sense that Stokes' luck would run out on a day five pitch which has turn and bounce.
He lasted 77 balls all told for his dogged 12.
The technology shows Chris Woakes did not edge it, and he survives.

Carey and Smith were very confident there.
Australia have gone upstairs again.
Has Chris Woakes got a feather on a delivery from Nathan Lyon? There seemed to be a noise.
Stokes lbw Lyon 12 (Eng 105-6)
It looked like the ball was sliding down leg stump, but Ben Stokes had stepped across and DRS deemed the ball was going on to hit.
Australia only seemed to review that in hope more than expectation.
A blow to any lingering hopes England had of a draw.

Did it turn enough? I reckon it was the arm ball that held up.

Starting to feel it is out...
Ben Stokes is struck on the knee roll, no bat involved.

It didn't feel out to me.
