Here are the four wickets that England have lost in this innings.

A mixture of good bowling and some bang average stroke play...

Before lunch England went 53 balls without scoring a run (it eventually extended to 71) and lost three wickets. Another dark moment in this Ashes series.

Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow have done a very good job. You could imagine England being bundled out for less than 100 at lunch.

It looks as though all the England management are stood on the side of their balcony and it looks like someone said something to Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow as they walked off and it is like a Where's Wally, Who's Who participating at the moment so try and work out who the guilty culprit is.

From 36-4 to 135-4 England have hope again.

Probably not hope that they can win this Test match, but hope that they can avoid defeat and that dreaded series clean sweep.

    Thanks Amy.

I'm happy to take any blame. But equally I might have fallen asleep at my laptop. Trying to do an overnight on two hours kip isn't easy, folks. Any tips on how to get more hours in the bank today would be appreciated.

    That was quite enjoyable, actually.

I'm off. If it goes wrong from here, then it's Callum Matthews' fault.

  8. Tea - Eng 135-4published at 46 overs

England's best session of the series? I'd say so, and by some way.

A 99-run stand between the remarkable Ben Stokes, who has 52, and a beligerant 45 from Jonny Bairstow has stopped what was becoming a dangerously dire situation for England.

This will be the last over before tea.

Stokes looks uncomfortable - whenever he plays a cross-batted shot, he immediately holds his side. He's doing a gallant job with this mildly counter-attacking innings though.

Just a single from the latest Nathan Lyon over as we edge closer to the tea break.

Before and throughout the whole series we've spoken so frequently about the need to be busy and just to put a little bit of pressure, without being reckless, onto the Australian bowlers.

It is then the tentativeness of the bowler to run in and put it on a length that they are very comfortable doing - it makes a bowlers job way harder and I think that is why you're seeing Nathan Lyon bowling a bit outside the off stump, then too straight, and the pace bowlers offering pull balls and flicks.

    Bairstow 45, Stokes 51

Another four for Jonny Bairstow, this time off Scott Boland, as he guides him through backward point with soft hands.

Runs are coming quickly with these two at the crease now they are both in.

Another firmly swept four for Jonny Bairstow, who is enjoying facing Nathan Lyon.

This partnership is now worth 90 runs.

Ben Stokes' half-century took 70 balls, with eight fours. It is his 35th score of 50 or more in Test cricket and he's converted 10 into hundreds.

It is his eighth against Australia, and three have been centuries. It is only his second in eight Tests in Australia.

We've not seen an England partnership dominate the Australian bowling like this in the series.

    What a ridiculous cricketer.

Ben Stokes, with one working side, moves to a 70-ball half-century with a gorgeous drive off Scott Boland. He's shown such grit.
