It feels like the sting has gone out of the ball now.
Some short and wide nonsense from Nathan Lyon, and a grateful Jonny Bairstow thrashes it for four.
Bairstow then adds another four to the tally with a little sweep that beats Alex Carey, who saw what Bairstow was trying to do and moved accordingly.

I think people who haven't seen Scott Boland will think he's this new find who runs in at 90mph and is fresh on the scene, but he trundles in at 83mph, which is Ollie Robinson pace, and he's been around for years, taking wickets for Victoria.
Stokes 47, Bairstow 22
This time it's an inside edge from the bat of Ben Stokes that narrowly avoids cannoning into the stumps, before he latches on to a bit of width from Boland and drives him beautifully for four.
Scott Boland is back for Australia.

Stokes and Bairstow got through a tough period of play, with England not scoring a run for 70 balls, which is a positive.
A big lbw appeal agains Bairstow, Lyon going down on one knee, but I think Bairstow had shuffled himself outside the line.
Bairstow celebrate with a clonking sweep for four, bringing up the England 100 in the process. This has been a very gutsy, good partnership for the tourists.

Water cannon?

If it's the same box, hit them where it hurts - fine them, eject them. They think it's funny.
"It's that box again!" says Jonny Bairstow as he's distracted by some movement above the sightscreen.
The man in question doesn't seem, erm, too apologetic.

It's very gloomy out there at the moment. The floodlights are doing their job for now.
One hand off the bat from Jonny Bairstow as he drives, but he's hit it well enough to pick up a couple of runs.
That Stokes is still running hard and pushing for a second run is a testatement to his character.
Ben Stokes charges Nathan Lyon but ends up dragging the ball through mid-wicket, having to settle for a couple of runs.
This is Stokes' highest score of the series, incidentally.

We saw a little bit of turn for Jack Leach yesterday so that will have interested Nathan Lyon because he turns the ball more than Leach.
Nathan Lyon is coming on.
Here's that remarkable moment where Ben Stokes was bowled but wasn't.
Stokes 38, Bairstow 12
Ben Stokes' hand is going to his side after every delivery.
You just don't want him to do any more damage to what is clearly already a serious injury.

That one has hurt Ben Stokes. If I was Australia I'd keep bowling that delivery because it made him collapse.
And four again!
Stokes pulls and pulls well enough to get four. That's hurt him, though, hand instantly going to his left side...
