  1. Eng 21-2published at 7 overs

Heather Knight does not do England nerves any good with a wafty drive outside off stump.

    That's better, though.

The England captain is onto a short ball from Jhulan Goswami in a flash and pulls the ball away into the on side for four.

  2. Eng 16-2published at 6 overs

Oooh, a strangled appeal from Meghna Singh as she smacks Heather Knight's pads bang in front, but the England captain had just managed to get a thin inside edge.

Meghna Singh is 1-4 from her three overs so far. Very tidy stuff indeed.

The worm shows England Women are nine runs behind India Women. England Women are 16 for 2 after 6 overs. At the same stage India Women were 25 for 2.
  3. Eng 16-2published at 5 overs

To compound matters for India Nat Sciver pulls the next delivery away for four.

Sciver was due a bit luck though after this freak dismissal against South Africa last time out...

Well, well, well, well, well. Nat Sciver was out in the most unfortunate way in the previous game. She's played on there, the ball has hit the base of middle stump and the bails haven't moved.

Maybe her luck has turned because that thumped the stumps!

  6. Eng 12-2published at 4.3 overs

Nat Sciver's luck is in! This is incredible.

The ball hits the toe end of Sciver's bat and the ball rolls onto the stumps - but the bails don't dislodge!

England don't make things easy for themselves, do they? Now it might be because I've had four or five coffees but my heart is pounding.

  9. Eng 8-2published at 4 overs

That will ease a bit of pressure.

Heather Knight just leans into a Meghna Singh delivery and pushes the ball through the covers for a welcome boundary.

    Magnificent timing.

That was Jhulan Goswami's 250th ODI career wicket.

She made her international debut 20 years ago.

It's a wonderful review from India. Tammy Beaumont playing with her pad out in front of her bat. I don't think we've seen a better review in this World Cup.

    It is pad first!

Brilliant review from India. England are in a bit of early trouble.

If this is pad first then bat then Tammy Beaumont is going to be in a bit of trouble.

  14. Umpire reviewpublished at 2.5 overs

Jhulan Goswami strikes Tammy Beaumont's pads with the final ball of the over.

The umpire says no - but India send it upstairs.

Wicket maiden for Meghna Singh, who I do like watching bowl. She's got an enthusiastic approach and pleasingly bouncy hair as she runs in.

  16. Eng 3-1published at 2 overs

    Edge.....but short!

Captain Heather Knight is the next batter and she is done by some late away swing from Meghna Singh. The ball fizzes wide of the wicketkeeper and then bounces just short of first slip.

Nervy times for England. India are buzzing.

The length has done Danni Wyatt there. Yes, there is away swing and it swings quite late but she sticks her bat out in front of her front pad. She's not bending down, she's playing the shot quite upright and it's taken the shoulder of the bat.

It's a brilliant catch by Rana.

Brilliant catch. Wyatt caught at slip and this is not what England wanted. A bit of away shape from Meghna but it's a nothing shot from Wyatt, I'm afraid.

    India do strike early!

It's another failure at the top of the order Danni Wyatt, but it is a stunning catch at first slip by Sneh Rana diving full stretch to her right.

India are jubilant. That is just what they needed.

England are definitely favourites, if they lose this it'll be one of the almighty losses.
