  1. drinks break

NZ 46-2published at 16:47 British Summer Time 23 June 2021

Ross Taylor clips one to mid-wicket and sets off for a single but Virat Kohli in that position is having none of it.

Taylor is still not off the mark and yes, you guessed it, that's another maiden.

    Time for a drink.

  2. NZ 46-2published at 16:44 British Summer Time 23 June 2021

Mohammed Shami is doing what he does best and playing on the patience of New Zealand's batters.

Rishabh Pant is not having the easiest time behind the stumps either as some are staying low, some bouncing and some seaming.

Two maidens in a row now ...

R Ashwin loops a couple up above Ross Taylor's eyeline but the batter refuses to be tempted and happily blocks the ball back to the bowler.

Taylor looks for a quick single on the off side but it's not there, and he remains on nought. Another maiden.

This is a really testing time for New Zealand. Ross Taylor has got to get his running right with Kane Williamson. He has to stay well away. They have been involved in a few run outs these two.

    Williamson 8, Taylor 0

Williamson gets another one in a, um, delicate (?) area, and I can't speak from experience obviously but judging from the oohs and ahhs on TMS, I can imagine that hurts.

He remains calm though and tucks the next one off his hip for another couple of runs.

Kohli can't seem to stay still out there.

Virat Kohli is pumped. He encourages the Indian supporters to increase their noise levels by cupping his ear and raising his fist emphatically. They don't need telling twice.

Taylor survives the rest of R Ashwin's over.

    Conway lbw b Ashwin 19

    Gone this time!

This one looked straighter and Michael Gough doesn't hesitate to raise his finger. Conway tried to get his bat out in front of his pad and he was very far forward. They discussed going for a review but Williamson seemed to advise him against it.

Ross Taylor joins his captain at the crease and there is a lot of experience in the middle for New Zealand now.

Another shout for lbw from Mohammed Shami but Kane Williamson rubs the inside of his thigh and grimaces. Ouch.

A quieter over, just two coming from it.

Virat Kohli, not one to hide his emotions on the cricket field, cannot believe that's been overturned.

But India are still up for this, as three fielders chase after the ball that Kane Williamson cuts on the off side for three.

    Conway 19, Williamson 1

Kane Williamson gets himself off the mark comfortably with a single through the covers.

Meanwhile, Devon Conway is showing absolutely no signs of nervousness as he takes on a Bumrah short ball and pulls it away for four.

The target to win is now exactly 100.
