Matthews stars in Fire's run chase
Originals 120-6 - Ecclestone 31 off 15
Fire register first win, but Originals still winless
Timothy Abraham
Welsh Fire will need to call well between the wickets.
The Manchester Originals lost an early wicket when Lizelle Lee got herself in all sorts of trouble and was run out.
The Originals perhaps suffered from losing wickets at key times but some very useful runs from Sophie Ecclestone at the end of the innings.
Can Welsh Fire chase this down?
A great catch earlier by Georgia Redmayne.

Manchester Originals' Sophie Ecclestone, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is nice to get some runs. It is about time. It's a defendable total. It is a really good pitch. I am hoping it might turn a bit in the second innings."
A slower ball from Alex Griffths and Sophie Ecclestone latches on to it, and sends it through the covers for four.
The final ball of the innings and Ecclestone finds the boundary as drives a yorker for four.
Cordelia Griffith attempts to go big, but misses a wider one from Alex Griffiths. Two balls later and the pair scamper two.

Manchester would like to get to 120 but they need a few boundaries now to achieve that.

That was a well taken catch. I must say though, people talk about skiers being dollys but I'd much rather have a ball smacked at me hard than a skier. With a skier, you have the variables of wind, thinking time etc, but you just have to react quickly in the ring.
Cross c Harvey b Matthews 1 (Originals 109-6)
Hayley Matthews floats one up and Originals skipper Kate Cross miscues a slog across the line but it's over the head of mid-wicket.
Two balls later and Cross attempts a similar shot, hitting it more powerfully, but this time it's caught by Nicole Harvey.
Du Preez c Smith b Hennessy 24 (Originals 106-5)
A big moment for Welsh Fire as Mignon du Preez is dismissed quite tamely, spooning a slower ball from Georgia Hennessy into the hands of Bryony Smith at mid-off.
A full toss from Georgia Hennessy and Sophie Ecclestone is on to it in a flash, whacking it over the square leg boundary for the first maximum of the innings.
This is more like it from the Manchester Originals.
Mignon du Preez hammers back-to-back boundaries. First she dances down the pitch and hits it through mid on, and then plays a fine late cut which beats the fielder at point.
Alex Griffiths continues to bowl a second set back to back.
Mignon du Preez is given a bit of width in the final ball of the set and she cracks it over the ring of fielders and the sweeper is unable to cut it off as it races across the rope.
