Nicholas Pooran is up and running first ball before Lendl Simmons blocks out two dots.
Simmons is on 13 off 30. Pack it in man. Play a shot!
Ermmm, Nicholas Pooran is the new batter, not Chris Gayle...

That is really well bowled by Maharaj - he prevented Lewis from getting up and over the ball.
Lewis c Rabada b Maharaj 56 (WI 73-1)
Breakthrough!
This is big for South Africa - Evin Lewis was just starting to threaten to take the game away from them.
The left-hander can't quite get underneath this pull shot enough and Kagiso Rabada takes a good catch on the mid-wicket boundary. It looks a simple enough catch but he has to shield his eyes from the sun so it is a lot more difficult than it looks.

It didn't look like he has got hold of it, but he's got enough of it.

Lewis is flying here.
Another six!
Evin Lewis is doing a fine job for West Indies here.
He moves really late, deep in this crease, and pummels it back down the ground for his sixth big 'un.
Keshav Maharaj will continue after the drinks break.
He's conceded just 12 from his two overs.

Their batting line-up is absolutely relentless.

With the power that West Indies have, they could get 120 off this last 10 overs.
Thanks Ffion.
This has been an odd little innings so far. Temba Bavuma got overly excited and that third Aiden Markram over, that went for 18, should have been a big momentum swing, but Lendl Simmons is really struggling here. He is only striking at 44.44 at the moment.
He either needs to start finding the boundary or miss a straight one. West Indies aren't going to want people like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard stuck in the dugout.
We're halfway through this first innings and West Indies have set themselves a nice platform here. Can Evin Lewis stay there and allow their many, many power hitters to play around him?
Here's Callum Matthews to take you through it.

Brilliant. What I've really liked is he was struggling at the start of his innings. But he played himself in, then took the risks, and he has got the reward.
Take a bow, Evin Lewis. He goes there with a slog sweep for six over midwicket - how else?!
He must have a bad back from carrying this opening partnership.

Lewis is striking the ball so cleanly.
This is a great contest. Every time South Africa tie West Indies up with some dots, Evin Lewis clobbers a six or two.
Simmons, however, probably needs to get a move on or ... get out, basically.

I love that from Lewis. He tried to go for the slog-sweep off the previous two deliveries, but then he has stood still in his crease and absolutely launched it.
And there it is!
Lewis attacks the spin of Maharaj and launches it with the most perfect straight bat into the stands. Lovely.
