It is hard to say why making 150 makes such a difference physcologically but it can be difficult to get to on these pitches. It can just create a mental block and it is a tough chase.

    Single. Single. Wide.

Sri Lanka have 150. That did not seem likely at the 15-over mark.

Pat Cummins has just done something I've never seen before. When the ball was rolling away from him towards the boundary sponge he tried to yank the sponges further back.

That is not how this game works, Pat.

Rajapaksa somehow threads a perfect Hazlewood yorker for four!

He gives himself a bit of room and carves it away. And poor Pat Cummins puts in a monumental dive on the cover boundary only to see the ball trickle off his hand and into the rope.

  5. SL 144-6published at 19 overs

Excellent running from the final ball sees the players scamper two. One over left - can they get to 150?

  6. SL 141-6published at 18.3 overs

Yep, full and straight but Karunaratne gets it away for a single.

  7. SL 140-6published at 18.2 overs

Karunaratne lofts Mitchell Starc straight down the ground for four from his first ball.

    Yorker incoming ...

  8. SL 135-6published at 18 overs

Seven runs and the wicket from Cummins' final over, and he finishes with 2-34. A decent day's work.

What can Sri Lanka scrape from these final two overs, then? Anything over 140 might not be an easy chase with the spin options that they have.

He hit it high enough for the batters to cross too so Rajapaksa will be on strike at least.

Dasun Shanaka going maybe isn't the worse result for Sri Lanka.

    Shanaka c Wade b Cummins 12 (SL 134-6)

Shanaka's fun comes to an end with one slog too many, top edging one high in the air and keeper Wade takes a simple catch.

Although, 12 from 19 balls probably isn't ideal at this stage of the game so the lower order can come in and have a swing now.

Threaded past mid-off for four! What a lovely shot that is, picking the gap with precision.

    Here's Pat Cummins.

    He starts with a wide.

We've seen a lot of pictures of Mickey Arthur shaking his head, hands on hip, in recent times so it is nice to see him smiling and enjoying himself.

  15. SL 128-5published at 17 overs

A single from the final ball for Rajapaksa to keep the strike. I think that's what we call 'good cricket'.

Marcus Stoinis is a bit better than a part-timer but that is the role that he plays in this side and it is clever from Sri Lanka to target him.

  17. SL 127-5published at 16.5 overs

Wide! Marcus Stoinis is not having a great time out there.

That is another great shot. It is great batting from the young man. He has had to wait his time but he is making his mark.

    SL 126-5published at 16.4 overs

Yes! This is what we want to see!

It's gone high, high up in the air and for a second it seems like there's a chance of a catch but nope, it's over the ropes for six.

Excellent batting from Rajapaksa, who has clearly chosen Marcus Stoinis as his target.

  20. SL 120-5published at 16.3 overs

This is more like it! Four more, Stoinis dropping short this time and pummelled to the ropes.
