That was another good shot. He had to get all of it to get it over the boundary and he did.

Tim Southee with the final over and Ravindra Jadeja charges him, powers the ball towards long-off and runs for two.

Southee is frustrated that the throw did not come into his end.

That was a good shot. He's just used the pace and it was a much-needed boundary.

  7. Ind 98-7published at 18.5 overs

Full toss from Trent Boult and that's easy for Ravindra Jadeja as he helps it round the corner for a welcome four.

Huge cheers from the crowd as it disappeared over the rope, some of it ironic I'm sure.

He's got to play that shot because 90-odd just isn't enough.

Shardul Thakur had to go for it but his straight-batted shot flies straight into the hands of Martin Guptill. Simple as you like.

There wasn't enough pace to play that shot. India are really up against it.

  12. wicket

    Pandya c Guptill b Bolt 23 (Ind 94-6)

A slower ball has done for Hardik Pandya! He times it well but perfectly picks out Martin Guptill at long-off.

Pandya cannot believe it as he trudges off. More glum faces among the India fans.

That was a good shot and good thinking. He used the pace and he targeted where the fielder was up.

  14. Ind 94-5published at 18 overs

They all count. Ravindra Jadeja goes for a rather untidy ramp shot but it proves effective, helping it fine down leg and beyond the wicketkeeper for a welcome four.

Two overs left, where can India get from here?

Now THIS is worth a watch. A quite outstanding piece of athleticism from Jimmy Neesham.

India still aren't going for it because they know the boundaries are bigger and the pitch isn't as good as they are in India.

I am still confused by the plan to start so watchful knowing that the conditions in Dubai mean you need to get off to a flier to give your middle order a chance to get themselves in.

  17. Ind 86-5published at 17 overs

Trent Boult is back to see this home for New Zealand.

India continue to struggle to get him away until the final ball, it's a lovely uppish cut by Hardik Pandya over backward point.

The first boundary for 71 balls, incredible.

  18. Ind 78-5published at 16 overs

That's Ish Sodhi's spell done. 2-17 from his four overs. Great control from the New Zealand spinners in the middle of this innings.

This is a great opportunity for Hardik Pandya to counter punch.

    In the air...but safe!

You fear the worst every time an India batsman skies a shot but Hardik Pandya survives on this occasion as it drops safely short of the man running in from the midwicket boundary.
