Yes it's been dropped but that is another sign of New Zealand doing their homework because how many times have we seen Rohit Sharma perish to the short ball early in his innings?

    DROPPED!

Would you believe it?! Rohit miss-times a hook to fine leg and that's an absolute dolly from Milne. He got there and it's just slipped through his grasp and down to the turf.

That's brilliant from New Zealand. They have really done their homework on him. He often falls short of the boundary with that flick shot that he loves so much.

    Kishan c Mitchell b Boult 4 (Ind 11-1)

    Kishan has gone!!

He has fallen right into the New Zealand trap as he clips the ball off his pads but can only direct the ball straight at deep square leg.

Kishan is caught by Mitchell off Boult for four

  7. NZ 11-0published at 2.4 overs

Kishan is yet to get off the mark...but he is now, lofting it over wide mid-on for four. It was airborne but Kishan knew what he was doing there, beautifully timed.

India are under pressure now to get that scoring rate up. Yes, they've got all their wickets intact but they've got to get a decent total here in case the dew comes into the equation later and makes it easier for New Zealand batting second.

  9. Ind 6-0published at 2 overs

It would have been a catch of the tournament contender, but was just a few inches too high.

KL Rahul nicks a single off the last ball to keep strike for the next over. India yet to really get going.

They had to get a boundary there to release the pressure. KL Rahul only got half a bat on that so if mid-on was a few steps back it would have been a simple chance.

    In the air...safe!

KL Rhaul skies one but it goes just wide of mid-on and disappears for four.

KL Rahul does get off the mark with a single before Boult smacks Ishan Kishan on the pads and goes up for a huge appeal - nothing given, and Kane Williamson declines to send it upstairs.

The replays show it was umpires call so a good decision by the New Zealand skipper.

India's batters are probably going to be a bit watchful here, particularly against Trent Boult. They've really had their problems against left-arm pace.

  17. Ind 0-0published at 0.1 overs

    Steady!

KL Rahul dabs the first delivery into the offside and thinks about a quick single, but is wisely sent back by Ishan.

Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul to open for India. Trent Boult has the ball for New Zealand.

This has all the makings of a thriller.
