  1. Ban 9-0published at 2 overs

Good comeback from Kagiso Rabada after that boundary with just a single added.

There's half an appeal for lbw from the final ball but they wisely opt against the review. Nothing much there.

That's nicely timed from Liton Das.

  3. Ban 8-0published at 1.2 overs

    Lovely.

Kagiso Rabada overpitches just a tad and Liton Das just leans on a drive to pick up the first boundary.

That's not much cop, really, from Nortje. He ran in and ran over the ball.

  5. Ban 4-0published at 1 over

Tidy start from Keshav Maharaj with just four runs conceded.

It could have been even better if it wasn't for a rather shoddy bit of fielding from Anrich Nortje.

There is basically nobody at the ground by the way. I'm saying 500 at most.

Spin to start for South Africa.

It'll be the left-armer Keshav Maharaj.

Bangladesh have got to put South Africa under the pump from the start. Take the first few overs to assess the pitch, see how it's playing, then accelerate.

The national anthems are done and we're almost ready for play.

Talking of anthems, have we spoke about the tournament song yet? A BANGER.

"Something's happening in the airrrrrr". Love it.

  10. How is Group 1 shaping up?published at 09:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2021

England are all but through to the semi-finals after their 26-run victory over Sri Lanka on Monday.

They will be mathematically through if South Africa lose this game against Bangladesh.

The Proteas though can keep themselves in the box seat for a final-four spot with a win. That would mean Bangladesh are 100% out too. They already practically are.

    It is bubbling up nicely.

Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah: "We would have bowled first too.

"Shakib Al Hasan has been one of our main guys and our go-to guy but it is a good opportunity for the rest of us to stand up.

"In two of our three games we were close to a win but we're still playing for our pride and looking to get wins under our belts."

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma: "There is a little bit of grass on the wicket and it has generally been our trend to chase.

"The win over Sri Lanka did our confidence the world of good and it was good that our batting was able to take us home. We'll keep trying to ride that momentum."

Bangladesh have realised they're not going to go through. To rest Mustafizur, their main bowler, they probably want to give other guys a go. It's a shame, really.
