That's another disappointing innings in this World Cup from Chris Gayle. You could hear the lack of timing through the effects microphone.

    Gayle c Hasaranga b Binura 1 (WI 1-1)

    Gone!

That's poor from Chris Gayle. He tries to go up and over the in field but he doesn't time the ball with any great conviction, instead toe-ending the ball straight to Hasaranga at mid-off. Not great.

  3. WI 1-0published at 1.1 overs

Binura rattles the outside edge of Chris Gayle's bat first up.

Pace, in the form of Binura Fernando.

Keep an eye on Evin Lewis. Chris Gayle doesn't like the quick single anyway, so it might be a case of stand and deliver from both of them.

  6. WI 1-0published at 1 over

    Target 190

Chris Gayle strolls a single to get West Indies under way, and that's all they can muster from the opening over.

  7. WI 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Chris Gayle turns Maheesh Theekshana's first delivery into the leg side, and we're off.

  11. Postpublished at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2021

Sri Lanka's Charith Asalanka: "I am very pleased with this performance by the team. Now we have to defend it. I think it is about par. We were talking about 170 but it's now 189. It's good.

"It's a good surface, a little slow, but good to bat on. I just tell the bowlers to bowl straight lines - don't give room to batsmen."

    Cheers, Callum.

This will take some getting, frankly, from West Indies.

  13. Postpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2021

West Indies have a lot of power in their batting line-up so 190 is definitely not out of their reach.

Amy Lofthouse will take you through their chase.

  14. Postpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2021

West Indies are going to have bat very well to chase this total down. Remember they need to improve their net run-rate, alongside winning their two games, to progress so they could do with chasing 190 with time to spare.

They were a bit sloppy in the field at times.

Charith Asalanka looks like a proper player...

It's going to be a tough ask for West Indies but they have no choice but to go for it. If they lose, they are out of the tournament.

  17. SL 189-3published at 20 overs

A couple of leg byes down to fine leg to finish.

West Indies will need 190 to win and stay in the World Cup.

  18. SL 187-3published at 19.5 overs

A fifth yorker executed and Dasun Shanaka just shovels into the covers for a single.

  19. SL 186-3published at 19.4 overs

Ravi Rampaul follows Dasun Shanaka but he manages to pick up two through mid-wicket.

  20. SL 184-3published at 19.3 overs

    A single for Chamika Karunaratne.

This is good from Ravi Rampaul.
