Chris Gayle taking the quick single might have taken David Warner by surprise there. It was positive running.

  4. WI 3-0published at 0.2 overs

Mitchel Starc opens up with a full delivery that finds the inside edge of Chris Gayle's bat and squirts through fine on the onside for two to get off the mark.

Australia made a mistake in changing their team against England - they should have kept with a winning combination.

They gave an opportunity to Ashton Agar but now they are back to their winning formula.

West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

You never know with Chris Gayle, but what has been good is that West Indies Cricket have allowed him to call his own terms.

The last thing I would want to see is him and Dwayne Bravo to go on past their body and reflexes allow and their legacy be damaged. Know when to walk away and allow us to keep celebrating what they've done for the game.

It is an end of an era for West Indies cricket as Dwayne Bravo, two-time World T20 winner, plays his last international before retirement.

Could it be a last hurrah for Chris Gayle too?

West Indies captain Kieron Pollard: "What all of us have done in the last decade is amazing - it is a shame we couldn't do that one last thing. Today will be emotional for some but it is important to play the game and try and salvage something.

"Everything is in the back of our mind about qualifying for the next tournament and run-rates etc so it it is all there."

Australia are second in Group 1 on six points, ahead of South Africa thanks to their superior net run-rate.

Defending champions West Indies are already eliminated following defeats by England, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

A win for Australia therefore should be enough to see them through - unless South Africa beat England by a huge margin.
