Afternoon, Kyle. Go and find that.
What a response.
Lewis from Plymouth, Ben Stokes isn't taking your advice on board.
The England skipper charges down and hits Kyle Jamieson for six.
Andy Zaltzman

We've had 37 fours and a six today in 67 overs.
We had 49 fours and four sixes yesterday and 43 fours and two sixes on day one.

I am all for positive Test cricket but a quick 30 from 25 balls wins no Test matches. Rein it in a bit.

We've seen some boundaries today, haven't we? It feels like it is boundary after boundary.
Joe Root had gone a little quiet since Stokes arrived. Until now. Matt Henry offers some width, without any real pace, and Root cuts through gully for his 19th boundary of the innings.

I'm not sure Ben Stokes was aiming there, I think he was just clubbing it anywhere to be honest.
It's an extraordinary innings considering the situation but it reflects how Ben Stokes has been saying he wants England to play. It's going to be an interesting few years, isn't it?
The crowd are loving this.
Stokes makes a bit of space. Boult follows him and the England captain, getting into a tangle, is hit on the back thigh.
How does he respond? By going aerial and smashing it down the ground for four. Then he steers a decent delivery through point for another boundary. Brute power followed by terrific stroke making.
Stokes is on 30 from 24.

Once Root gets to 135, his average will be guaranteed to be 50 at the end of his innings

Trail by 185 runs
A change in bowling as Matt Henry returns.
Ben Stokes takes a couple of strides forward and gives it an almighty slap, only for the ball to go straight to the fielder on the boundary.
Two from the over.

The outfield is like glass - it's very hard to chase and stop.
Trent Boult bowls five tidy deliveries, before one sits up perfectly for Stokes to pull down to fine leg. Not middled but it races down to the boundary.

England have still got a long way to go.

I respectfully disagree with Sir Alastair. JB isn't a 'big wicket' in Test matches. Technique is flawed, and his numbers reflect that. A canny bowler like Boult would expect to pick him up early.
Jason, Neath
Root 113, Stokes 15
No big heave down the ground but a solid flick through the leg side for another Stokes boundary.
Jonny Bairstow is sat with his feet up on the balcony and is filling out a Sudoku. Meanwhile, Trent Boult is signing one of those mini cricket autograph bats for some young fans .
Many years ago, I asked Inzamam-ul-Haq to sign one for me during a Kent v Pakistan tour match in Canterbury. He took up about two thirds of the bat, leaving little space for anyone else. I've forgiven him. But I won't forget.

There is very little point to Ben Stokes crabbing his way down the pitch like he did at Lord's. The runs will come quite quickly anyway.
A calmer over. Back to traditional red-ball cricket kinda stuff. The highlight being a Boult yorker which Stokes digs out for a single.

There is still a way to go for England.
