With nearly an hour gone and a wicket just fallen it is time for drinks.
A fine first hour for England who lost the toss and were asked to bowl.
Stuart Broad removed Tom Latham in the first over with Jack Leach trapping Will Young lbw to reduced the Black Caps to 35-2.

I love a floppy hat but the thing with them is that it's got to fit well. I've got a small head, so whenever I have a floppy on it just falls off.
Jamie Overton continues to go short again and Will Young grabs three with a slightly miss-times pull into the onside that is chased down by Stuart Broad, whose floppy hat flies into the air mid-run.
The atmosphere is building in the Western Terrace with plenty of fancy dress on show - including a large group dressed in butcher's aprons surrounding one guy in a bright pink pig outfit.
Expect that pig to take off and be chased by the butchers up and down the stands this afternoon.
This isn't my first rodeo.

I love England's approach. I like how they've left a big gap at cover open, keeping that attacking option.
There are smiles on faces, they look like they're really enjoying their cricket.
Nearly played on! Stuart Broad is looking incredulous again as Will Young goes for a wild pull but very nearly chops onto his stumps via his thigh.
He connects better next up though as he pulls to deep backward square leg for one.

It looks a good pitch to bat on as demonstrated by this shot from Will Young, cutting Matthew Potts away backward of square for four.

That boundary shows how placid this pitch is. It was short, but he's managed to get onto it so early and whack it through extra cover.
It looks great for batting.
Jamie Overton is short again but it's wide and sits up nicely for Will Young, who plays an uppish cut shot through the covers for four.
He goes full with his final delivery but Young digs it out well.
