Here's how Trent Boult ripped through England's top-order a little earlier.
(Alex Lees' reaction sort of sums it all up.)

England are going at five an over but have lost four wickets. It's exhausting.
Jonny Bairstow pulls. It finds the bottom edge and whistles past Blundell behind the stumps. Four more. Relentless scoring.
Time for drinks. This session has been, well, ridiculous. No other word for it.
Another boundary. Ben Stokes is in full control of this one. He takes a step forward and places it through the gap at point. Perfectly timed.

That flew down to third man and was fielded by a nun.

It doesn't feel like we are watching a Test match.
Short from Trent Boult. Ben Stokes takes a few steps forward and slaps it into the the off side. Four more.

I’ve just spotted Geoffrey Boycott in the posh seats. Not sure I’m brave enough to ask him what he made of those England dismissals.
Southee varies it up with a slower ball which invites a play and a miss from Stokes. The England captain strides down the pitch again but this time clips into the leg side for a single.
My word - England are living on the edge! Jonny Bairstow flashes at a short and wide one which is just out of reach of the slip cordon and races to the boundary.
The shackles are off Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow. And I have a feeling they'll never be put back on.
Like it or loathe it, you're certain to be entertained.

Wow. You can forget patience. Stokes has faced three balls and come down the track to two of them.
Ben Stokes jigs down the pitch and launches Southee back down the ground for six.
What on earth is Test cricket about these days?

Stokes and Bairstow have to be patient. Can they see off Boult? I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lengthy spell from him.

Trent Boult is just the third player to bowl three batters inside the first eight overs of a Test innings after George Lohmann against Australia at Old Trafford in 1888 and Jack Saunders at the Oval in 1902.
He is also the 11th player to bowl the opposition's top three batters. The last time it happened in England was Trevor Bailey against New Zealand at Old Trafford in 1949.
Trail by 298 runs
Trent Boult bowls a rare poor delivery. Full and wide. Drilled through the covers by Bairstow for four.
And again! Pretty much a carbon copy of the first boundary.
In case you care, my figures are currently 6-31 from 10.5 overs since taking on the live text chair.

New Zealand have given England a lesson on how to bowl at Headingley.
Ben Stokes is in and off the mark with two. Oh how they need another Trent Bridge-eque partnership between the England skipper and Johnny Bairstow.

You can feel the disappointment around Headingley as Joe Root slumps off. Yorkshire’s favourite son is out.

Oh my word. This is super bowling from Tim Southee.
It was full and straight but just nipped away from Joe Root at the last moment.
England right up against it.
Root c Blundell b Southee 5 (Eng 21-4)
England are in deep, deep, trouble! Star batter Joe Root is the fourth England batter to head back inside for single figures.
Having seen his bowling partner pick up three wickets, Tim Southee gets in on the action. It's pitched up and shapes away. Root, playing forward, edges into Tom Blundell's gloves.
This is brutal stuff from New Zealand.
