Sir David Merson: Time for a reset.
Johnny Bairstow joins fellow Yorkshireman Joe Root in the middle. Will these two have an answer for the brilliance of Boult?
Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special commentator
He's bowled him again! England are rocking here.
What happened to the forward defence?
Crawley b Boult 6 (Eng 17-3)
Trent Boult has done it again! A third England wicket, and a third batter bowled by the New Zealand seamer.
The struggling Zak Crawley is the latest victim. He is reeled in by Boult into playing the drive. It's straight, through the gap and smashes into Crawley's stumps.
There wasn't a great deal of movement. It's a poor shot selection from Crawley.
Ollie Pope, look away now.

Richard Marc Music: New Zealand showing just how ludicrous England’s short bowling plan was this morning by causing us all sorts of issues with good, full bowling aimed at the stumps.
Nick The Unit: People will have a pop at Ollie Pope there but that is simply high class new ball bowling from Trent Boult. That would be dismissing many top order players at start of their innings. Top Test cricket this.
The New Zealanders had hands on the heads or heads in their hands. What a huge blow losing Root would have been for England.
The hosts up against the ropes right now.
Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special commentator
If that had hit end then Root would have been out.
Dear Zak Crawley,
Do not run out Joe Root,
Regards,
The English public.
The opener pushes to cover and sets off for a single. Kane Williamson has a shy at the stumps. Direct hit and Root would have been miles out.
Joe Root heads to the field to huge cheers from the Yorkshire crowd. Can he, for the 3457394576435th time in Test cricket*, come to England's rescue?
*slight exaggeration.

BBC Sport at Headingley
That was a second beautiful delivery from Boult but Michael Vaughan is currently doing some shadow batting in the back of the TMS box so explain why Ollie Pope’s alignment is wrong to the left-arm seamer.
Vic Marks
Former England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
That's another beautiful delivery, enticing the drive, but if the ball is moving that is not an easy shot. Pope has lost control of that shot and his balance. Boult is a wonderful bowler. When his rhythm is right, he gets it full and he knows he can swing it... He is terrific.
Pope b Boult 5 (Eng 14-2)
Movement. Through the gap. Cleaned up.
Trent Boult strikes again! It's another terrific delivery and it's another England batter bowled by the seamer.
It was pitched up. It moved. It completely deceived Ollie Pope and went through the gap.
For all the compliments I was giving Pope's technique earlier, he was almost falling over himself as he looked to play that.

@ Tom 14:08. That delivery was a beauty. That may have dismissed Strauss and Cook.
Amjad
Tom, you need to get real mate. Strauss and Cook would have had no chance playing that ball. It's when they play loose drives to second slip you should get angry, not when he gets out to a worldie.
Rob
Gorgeous delivery from Tim Southee. A full length on off stump which straightens up and beats Zak Crawley. The opener does well to play inside the line. He could have so easily edged it.
Maiden.
Martin giving Broady some birthday beats there.

This won’t end up on the BBC site because Broad is the golden boy. His behaviour when he doesn’t get his own way is appalling. Why should the ball be changed after he throws it into the pitch and changes its shape so it won’t go through the ring? Two balls after the change he gets a wicket and is all smiles. Pure gamesmanship. Should be fined the whole of his match fee.
Martin in London
Ollie Pope is so technically gifted. He effortlessly works a delivery off his pads and through mid-wicket for four. It was a slightly poor line from Boult, but Pope can be so pleasing to watch at times.
Jeremy Coney
Former New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special
Boult against Crawley is a match-up New Zealand will favour. Crawley just pushes forward and that natural left-handed bowling angle against the right-handed batter comes into play. Boult looks to be in good rhythm.

Tom: Will England ever find a pair of openers who can consistently see off the first hour? Cook and Strauss seems many lifetimes ago
Ash Hale: This is where Pope has to perform. In situations like this where we have lost an early one. If he hangs around here and gets a score he will shut up even more doubters, especially after he scored that ton in the last Test.
