    Lead by 254

Is that a celeb-appeal from Matthew Potts? Learning from his team-mate Mr Broad there.

He comes around the wicket to Michael Bracewell and thinks he has him lbw.

It looked leg-sideish from first look and Richard Kettleborough says no, despite Potts' pleas, with replays proving his decision correct.

Five from the over nudges New Zealand's lead beyond 250.

The partnership between Mitchell and Blundell over the course of series is 724 runs - the joint 10th most by any pair in a Test series.

They are only the fifth pair to share four century stands in any Test series.

They've passed by one the most runs added by a pair for the fifth wicket or lower.

Overall, they faced 236.1 overs - the equivalent of tea on day three.

  3. NZ 280-6published at 94 overs

Joe Root, who has seen two edges whizz past him this session, looks to have taken a small step to his left as Jack Leach bowls a maiden.

It means new boy Michael Bracewell is on strike to Matthew Potts next up.

Arjun Singh: I think the wicket notification system is broken. I just got notified that we got Mitchell out for less than 100?

I watched Matthew Potts at Durham at the start of the season at Chester-le-Street. I spoke to a lot of people about him after his first call-up.

I thought he looked a good bowler but I really did not think he’d do this well.

He has been outstanding in this match.

Ooohs and ahhs all round as Michael Bracewell was goes for the drive and the ball whizzes past the outside edge.

This is excellent stuff from Matthew Potts. What a find he has been for England.

Daryl Mitchell may have gone but Tom Blundell is still there. And he is looking in good touch.

  9. NZ 278-6published at 92 overs

    Edged...and wide of slip again!

Joe Root is very wide at first slip and once again he sees a thick edge from Blundell off Jack Leach fly past his left hand.

Tom Blundell then escapes off strike with a late cut to the point boundary.

  10. NZ 274-6published at 91 overs

Michael Bracewell defends his first delivery from Matthew Potts to complete what could a pivotal over in this match.

Potts actually looked less convinced by the delivery that got Mitchell than the ball to Blundell earlier in the over.

Daryl Mitchell shakes his head in frustration as he makes his way off the field, but deservedly receives a standing ovation from the Headingley crowd.

Immediately referred. This looked a little bit high. A little bit down leg side. And it might have even hit the bat.
