  1. Ind 4-0published at 1 over

Rohit tries to pull a short one but mistimes it, but off the final ball of the over he does get his timing spot-on, clipping it through mid-wicket for four.

  2. Ind 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Rohit pushes the first one gently to mid-off for no run. Jason Roy bashed the first of England's for four, remember.

OK, here come Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan as Reece Topley prepares to send down the first delivery of India's chase.

  4. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

Reece Topley was bamboozled as Yuzvendra Chahal brought it to a close.

Craig Overton could not quite make it two sixes in succession as the innings subsided.

Then Willey and Overton seemed to be getting England back on track until Willey holed out near the boundary.

But Ravindra Jadeja put paid to those hopes with this brilliant catch as he went rolling in the deep.

Let's recap on some of the England innings, and it looked like Jos Buttler was going to get England up to a big total with some decent blows.

BTW, on TMS right now you can hear a journalistic chin-wag about this India tour, which ends today, with Mel Farrell, Simon Wilde and Nagraj Gollapudi joining Simon Mann. Just hit the link on this page or on the Sounds app.

Thanks Tom, but anyone who saw me play cricket back in the day would query that "safe hands" comment.

Now this chap really does know how to take a catch...

Because we have overran (despite England only batting 45.5 overs) the interval will be 30 minutes, meaning the action will begin again at 15:12 BST.

It's time for my lunch too. So to guide you through the break and the start of India's reply, I will leave you in the safe hands of Tim Oscroft.

Sean Bulpitt: Surely taking 30 off the last 5 is better than just slogging out trying to hit a six? Poor from England not using up the overs.

So England fail to bat out their 50 overs again - all out after 45.5.

They are skittled out for 259 which means India need 260 to win the match and the series.

That was a very good googly, just enough of a gap to go through. This has been fabulous bowling.

It is still a decent score, it is going to see how the batters apart from Rohit or Virat handle the length of the England bowlers.

    Topley b Chahal 0 (Eng 259)

    And that's that.

A googly from Yuzvendra Chahal does for Reece Topley as the ball flies through the gate and clatters into the stumps.

Chahal is enjoying these big grounds with long boundaries. Overton sliced it, had to reach at it and an easy, comfortable catch for Virat.

    Overton c Kohli b Siraj 32 (Eng 257-9)

Craig Overton tries again but doesn't get away with it this time. Virat Kohli, who had replaced Mohammed Siraj, taking the catch at long-off

I'm surprised that Siraj is fielding there, generally you want your best in that position but he got under it and pushed at it.

  19. 6 runs

    Eng 257-8published at 45.1 overs

    Oh dear, Mohammed Siraj.

Craig Overton smashes the ball straight to him at long-off but all Siraj can do is tip the ball over the boundary for six.

  20. Eng 251-8published at 45 overs

Ravindra Jadeja is brought back to race through another over.

Good call by Rohit Sharma. We should all be having lunch by now.
