They're taking it on, there's no question of playing yourself in. They're taking on the spinner.
England are looking to be proactive, as you'd expect.
Jonny Bairstow gets off the mark with a chip over mid-on for a couple.
The floodlights are firmly on at Old Trafford and there are still cloud-filled skies above.

Taking on the reverse-sweep second ball. He had a sighter and then straight into the reverse.
Shot!
Jason Roy clobbers away a reserve sweep for four off the second ball.
What's a good score in 29 overs?

After a delay getting on for four hours, we can finally begin.
Like the first game, South Africa are going to start with the left-arm spin of Keshav Maharaj.
The initial powerplay is six overs long and then we'll have a six over one at the end too.
The players are out!
We're going to have some cricket.

We spoke about how England haven't had the best of luck with the toss and it's the case again today for Jos Buttler. The pitch has been under cover for the best part of a day now.
It's now about the way England react to this.
England: Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Phil Salt, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley.
South Africa: Janneman Malan, Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi.
South Africa captain Keshav Maharaj: "We're looking at the overhead conditions and hopefully we can utilise that and put England under pressure.
"I think the last game was our most clinical performance and hopefully we can back that up and match our intensity.
"Just one change for us, Andile Phehlukwayo out with Dwaine Pretorius coming in."
England captain Jos Buttler: "We would have done the same thing.
"We want to try and impose ourselves on the game. It is something we pride ourselves on. We want the guys to be brave and impose themselves.
"We've got three changes with Reece Topley, Phil Salt and David Willey coming. We rested Reece on Tuesday and it is great to have him back. Phil is going to bat at three with the shortened game and T20-like game it should suit him."
Keshav Maharaj calls tails and fancies having a crack at England's batting line-up under the grey skies.
Almost time for the toss then...
We know England will make at least one change with Ben Stokes having retired after Tuesday's game.
Will they make any others? Reece Topley is warming up intensely so I suspect he's coming back in.
If you need a reminder of what happened in the first ODI, have a watch of these.
You can also have a read of Matthew Henry's match report, and there is also an outstanding follow-up looking at two serious warnings that cricket was dealt on Tuesday.
The toss will take place at 16:25 BST.
We'll bring you that and team news then.
There we go then!
It will be a 29-over per side game.
The interval has been reduced to 15 minutes.
The umpires are going to take another look in just over 15 minutes.
Just a reminder that 18:02 BST is the absolute cut-off for a 20-over game.
Both umpires are out there at the moment. One has a brew in hand.
The groundstaff have removed the outer covers but the nearest ones to the hover cover are still firmly in place.
I don't expect any start to be imminent.
