400 in one innings is very difficult to comprehend. I was happy to surpass 400 runs in my career.

I can't say I've ever used a knife and fork to eat fish and chips but I am often ridiculed for using them with a pizza, so I guess we're kinda on the same page, Shaun ...

The latest from the middle at Headingley is that the umpires will be taking another look in just under half an hour's time, at 13:45 BST.

More from Sam Northeast on BBC Test Match Special: "Billy [Root] had a great sense of humour yesterday because he got a first baller! He was saying he'd be an answer in a pub quiz one day.

"The attention has been crazy, I've had so many messages from around the world. It is very strange for someone playing county cricket!

"Honestly, I thought we were batting further than maybe we needed to. When we got to lunch I just assumed we'd declare but Matt Maynard said to us, if you want to break more records than keep going!

"That was the only time I thought about Brian Lara's record really, but before then it wasn't on my agenda."

Glamorgan batter Sam Northeast: "I think it is starting to sink in now. I can't really put it into words, it's something you never think is possible but it literally happened to me yesterday. It is surreal, and then to go on and win the match as well, it was unbelievable.

"I doubt I'll have a day like that again!

"I was nervous in the 90s, then in the 190s but after that everything else felt like a bonus. At the start of the day I needed two runs to get Glamorgan's highest ever individual score so I just wanted to get past that.

"There were some crazy names to be joining like Graeme Hick and Brian Lara, it feels incredible to be on that list."

So while the rain keeps falling at Headingley, let's just reflect on some madness that occurred in the County Championship yesterday.

Glamorgan's Sam Northeast made 410 not out against Leicestershire as they completed a remarkable win by an innings and 28 runs. I won't try and sum up all the records he broke but you can keep across them all here.

Northeast joined BBC Test Match Special during the rain delay to discuss his incredible innings.

I actually thought they were starting to take the covers off but they are bringing more out. It doesn't look like it is raining that heavy at the moment.

This might be more preparation than being reactive.

There are even more covers coming out now. There must be something heavy on the way.

So South Africa started the ODIs with a victory at Durham in nearly 40 degrees.

Less than a week later, the next two games have been delayed by rain.

Cricket and the British weather. So silly.

    Thanks, Joe.

Test Match Special are currently talking about what they have with their fish and chips, so that tells you how far away we are from the resumption of play.

Ebony has started the north v south debate of chips and gravy. Curry sauce, tartare sauce and mushy peas have also been thrown into the mix.

Always gets a bit heated, that one. Thoughts?

Right guys I'm off to grab my lunch.

Ffion Wynne will take you through the rest of South Africa's innings. We've got no clue when that will start up again though!

It is pretty even at the moment.

That last wicket of Rassie van der Dussen has potentially swung it slightly in England's favour.

Quinton de Kock is a massive wicket because he can accelerate quickly.

England won't be displeased with where they are though. If they can get a couple of wickets they could be well on top.

Here's the best shots of Quinton de Kock's 50. He's currently on 69 not out from 55 deliveries.

I'm not surprised that this is it for now. It has definitely got heavier in the last few minutes.

You could just see a little bit more movement in the crowd.

The Headingley crowd is a sea of umbrellas. It's pretty wet now.
