That could have been nasty. Rabada saw him coming.
Why he chose to charge him I don't know.

That could have been nasty. Rabada saw him coming.
Why he chose to charge him I don't know.
Ollie Pope tucks himself under a short delivery from Kagiso Rabada, before Ben Stokes charges him and almost gets absolutely smashed on the ribs by a back of a length delivery.
A reminder that playing aggresive cricket doesn't mean playing daft shots. Rabada smiles ruefully at Stokes as they cross pass at the end of the over.
And again!
Ben Stokes finishes the over with a carbon copy shot. Gorgeous.

That is a risk-free magnificent shot.
He has only pushed it but timed it perfectly.
Vic always talks such sense.
That is gorgeous shot from Ben Stokes, standing tall, feet still, and driving Marco Jansen back down the ground for four. A beautiful, risk-free stroke, executed to perfection.

I really like the new approach but I sometimes wonder whether England are more concerned with sticking to their principles than winning the match.
There is a balance there somewhere.
Ben Stokes, wisely, chooses not come running at Kagiso Rabada, and he and Ollie Pope opt for a series of singles instead.

Is Stokes going to come down the wicket to Rabada? I wouldn't put it past him.
Kagiso Rabada is back for South Africa.
My chicken sandwich sounds very underwhelming in comparison.

Oh, here we go...
Ben Stokes charges Marco Jansen once again and makes it looks absolutely horrible as he swings and misses at fresh air.

Ben Stokes is off the mark with a booming drive that is well-stopped by a diving Dean Elgar, before Ollie Pope clips another single to end the over.
That is a brave shot!
Ollie Pope chases after an Anrich Nortje bouncer and goes up and over for a one-bounce four. Was that a helicopter shot?!

Ben Wire: Can't help but feel this is Pope's moment. Hope he seizes it.

Every ball is fraught with danger at the moment.
Ollie Pope inside edges another delivery just past his stumps, head falling over as he tries to plant his front foot down the wicket.
Dangerous, edgy times.

This is fantastic stuff. The swing Jansen is getting is tremendous.
Oh! Ollie Pope is beaten all ends up by a beauty from Marco Jansen.
We're only two wickets away from Stuart Broad, by the way. A thought to brighten all our days.
