Pope b Rabada 73 (Eng 134-7)
He is not doing well any more, Mike!
Ollie Pope cannot believe it as he goes for a drive off Kagiso Rabada but can onyl chop the ball onto his own stumps.
Pope looks frustrated as he trudges off. South Africa are jubilant

Mike Bell: Good to see Ollie Pope doing well, although given there might have been some divine intervention to save him from that slip catch. It reminded me of our village side in 1976. We had a Pope, a Priest and a Verger in the team. Plus a proper vicar who batted at three.
We have just seen a montage of Anrich Nortje's wickets yesterday. It really was a brilliantly aggressive spell of fast bowling.
Nortj is looking equally stern-faced this morning as he bangs one in to Stuart Broad, but the ball takes off and disappears over Kyle Verreynne for four byes.
That won't improve his mood.

I think that's going to be the tactic for Stuart: if it's up, it's off. He's a good timer of the ball and if he can get a quick 30 or 40, England will be delighted.
Here we go! Stuart Broad tees off and smacks Kagiso Rabada over mid-off, though the ball plugs into the surface so England can only two.
That is a great response from Rabada as he goes for the inswinging yorker right onto Broad's toes, but the ball escapes through to the wicketkeeper.
Told you it would be lively.

I don't think Broad laid bat on ball for any of those deliveries.

Broad has a crucial role to play here because Ollie Pope is looking alright.
Anrich Nortje, who was so impressive taking 3-43 yesterday, comes steaming in at the other end bowling in excess of 90mph.
Stuart Broad doesn't seem to mind though as he has a couple of wild wafts outside off stump, but somehow survives.

Ollie Pope fenced at it and got a healthy edge to first slip. One, two, three... four attempts! Four juggles and he still couldn't grab hold of it. Rabada hasn't seen the funny side of that.
Isa Guha
Former England bowler on BBC Two
He had about three or four goes at catching that! It was a juggling act at first slip.
Oh my! Comedy drop klaxon!
It is a thick edge from Ollie Pope straight to Sarel Erwee at third slip, but he ends up spilling the ball despite four goes at holding on.
The Lord's crowd chuckles as the replay is shown on the big screen.
Kagiso Rabada is less impressed.
Sir Alastair Cook
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Jimmy and Stuart have had a lack of match practice. We know their class, but I can't remember the last time they bowled in a red-ball game. You do need some miles in your legs.
A sign of intent?
Ollie Pope drives the second ball of the day past mid-off for two before pulling a short delivery away around the corner for four.
The sun has broken out as Ollie Pope and Stuart Broad stride out to the middle.
Knowing Broad he will be here for a good time not a long time so expect some fireworks.
Kagiso Rabada has the ball in hand.

I think it'll be an action-packed day...

Joe Root came wandering over to me earlier to tell me how hard this pitch is to bat on. South Africa bowled more wobble seam and he said that was very hard. But England are confident that they are still in this game. They think there's a lot in this pitch. This could be an all-action day.
The Lord's crowd have certainly responded to the call. The ground is bathed in red as Andrew Strauss walks out onto the outfield with his two sons. The two teams soon follow all wearing red caps before the crowd rises and applauds.
A lovely yet poignant scene raising awareness for a great cause.

England bowler Stuart Broad, speaking to Test Match Special: "You have to look up, not down, at Lord's. It was a really good toss to win and it did nip around.
"It's not amazing sunshine, so I think the ball will offer throughout the day. We have a bowling attack that can expose those sort of conditions. We're very much in this game.
"I'll try and get through my first ball and then see where we go. Runs are going to be important on this pitch. The way Ollie Pope played was a great benchmark for a style of play on this pitch. We're out there to score some runs."
