Stokes is going to get twitchy, he's not going to like just sitting there and propping forward.

You get the impression that Ben Stokes is just weighing up his options at the moment. But he's not the kind of player who is just going to let Simon Harmer lob it up on a length for a few overs so expect something to happen.
Ben Foakes works away a single off Simon Harmer's second ball to pick up a single. Ben Stokes, however, remains somewhat circumspect in his approach and carefully prods and defends at the rest of the off-spinner's over.

The spin today has shown South Africa were justified with their selection of two spinners. Yesterday they took that gamble by batting first and will be behind in the first innings. But there is interesting cricket ahead with this pitch.
Ben Stokes attempts a reverse sweep to a delivery that stays low and turns from Keshav Maharaj, but it spins past his off stump.
The England skipper is a little more watchful in the rest of the over and blocks out a maiden.

Anyway, Ben Foakes and Ben Stokes are purposefully striding back out to the middle. Keshav Maharaj has the ball in his hand.
Ben Foakes overturned an lbw shout from Keshav Maharaj, but quickly got over it to strike Simon Harmer for a boundary not long after.
Thankfully, it looks like an existing injury that Stokes is managing as opposed to a fresh problem.
South Africa then turned to spin and the England skipper efficiently slog-swept Simon Harmer for six as he and Ben Foakes began building a lead.
A period of consolidation followed before Ben Stokes started to find his rhythm. He skipped down the pitch to beautifully drive Lungi Ngidi for four down the ground.
