South Africa do have a very long tail...

Captain fantastic gets the breakthrough and Ben Stokes is off and running. A man for the moment!

Gone!
Ooh, Rassie van der Dussen shouldn't have been playing at that... it's wide and Van der Dussen chases it, a thick outside edge flying through to Ben Foakes behind the stumps.
England are cockahoop as Stokes goes charging across the field to celebrate.

Fans gathering under the England dressing room as the players head out for the final session.
Oh! Rassie van der Dussen gets a thick inside edge first up and somehow avoids edging it onto his stumps.
Here comes Ben Stokes...

The stairs down from the media centre go past the South Africa dressing room. Keegan Petersen, still with his pads on, is sitting on the steps getting some words of encouragement from Anrich Nortje.
Here come the players.
This was a moment of fortune for Rassie van der Dussen, but strange that not a single England fielder or the bowler went up in appeal.

Can I just say (and I do apologise) but my dad is 83 and he can do a hand stand. Never a professional sportsman but I love him and that is pretty good, right?

It's become predictably difficult so we're in for the long haul folks.
Vernon Philander
Former South Africa bowler on BBC Test Match Special
England are still a way ahead in this game. But South Africa will take a lot of belief to fight and have some sort of say in the next innings. If England take a few more wickets they're right back into the game.
Poor effort from Rostance, not taking a single wicket in that session.
You'll all be delighted to know that I'm passing the baton back to Amy Lofthouse. May she bring wickets, runs and excitement.
It's not been the most exciting of sessions but it's very much job done for South Africa. Another one of those and they'll have ticked off Game Plan A.

We've had a couple of chances where there hasn't been anyone near the bat but that non-wicket will frustrate England when they see that. Maybe it's better if they're not told.

Typical. A replay shows that Rassie van der Dussen actually nicked one behind in that previous over but there wasn't even an appeal! How costly could that be?
Jack Leach tries to rip one in but there's no real turn for him, still. TEA.

A very fine over by Stokes and there will be one more before tea.
