  1. Ind 161-5published at 41 overs

Another steady over from Leach, just a single from the last ball as Jadeja chips the ball down to long on.

Whatever rain there is, isn't forcing them off just yet. Around 10 minutes to go until tea.

    A few drops of rain.

  3. Ind 160-5published at 40 overs

    Pant 46, Jadeja 28

An expensive over to start from Stokes, eight from it as Pant flays the ball through the vacant point region for four. He's closing in on a half-century as tea approaches.

  4. Ind 154-5published at 39 overs

A very gentle start from Stokes, just 76mph to Jadeja, who gets a single to leg. It's also called a no-ball.

Neil Burniston: Ben Stokes has been reluctant to use the fourth seamer all summer! He really needs to decide whether he thinks he is a Test class bowler anymore.

Well, Neil, he's decided he fancies a bowl now.

  6. Ind 152-5published at 39 overs

    Pant 40, Jadeja 27

A much quieter over as Leach comes back well. Just a pair of singles from it.

We've got around 20 minutes until tea and it has been a session of two halves thus far.

  8. Ind 150-5published at 38 overs

Jadeja clips Broad through the legside for two to take India to 150 before leaving the next five outside off.

Time for another round of Pant v Leach, it's been rather one-sided so far.

Dave Foot: Maybe it wasn't Mitchell and Blundell, maybe it's simply wicket No. 6 that so foxes England.

  10. Ind 148-5published at 37 overs

A dot ball to finish from Leach but a good over for India. Will Stokes give his spinner another over? Given what we've seen of Stokes the captain so far, I'd be very surprised if he didn't.

This might be one of those gambles that doesn't pay off for Ben Stokes.

  12. 6 runs

    Ind 148-5published at 36.5 overs

It is going to be Leach and having held himself back for a couple of balls, Pant charges the third and hits past mid-off for four.

The next ball is dragged short and Pant pulls it away for four more!

Six! Down the pitch again and the ball goes flying back over Leach's head and into the sightscreen - that brings up the fifty partnership.

Both these batters are free-flowing so if they see an opportunity they will pounce on it.

  15. Ind 134-5published at 36 overs

    Pant 25, Jadeja 24

Broad comes back well and there is a play and a miss from Jadeja, going for another drive. The left-hander is a little more watchful for the rest of the over.

Meanwhile, Jack Leach is going through his warm-ups...

  17. Ind 134-5published at 35.2 overs

Jadeja is starting to build up a head of steam now, he unfurls another beautiful drive between extra cover and mid-off. Four more and the runs are starting to flow.

On the subject of husband and wife involvement in cricket (15.19), my wife and I have played in the same village team several times and in one match we both saw the ball hit our stumps while batting but without dislodging a bail. Some kind of record? There was another time I was out for 49 and she was one not out for a family 50.

John Petrie: Are Pant and Jadeja going to be India's Mitchell and Blundell?

  20. Ind 130-5published at 35 overs

Nothing major in terms of swing from the 'new' ball but Anderson is on the money to Pant, two dot balls to end the over.
