Difficult one. The ball seems to have followed Crawley around in this Test. It was a third slip catch really but there is no third slip so he had to go for it.

Ooooh! So close.
Pant flashes at a wide one and gets a thick edge to third slip where Zak Crawley has to dive full stretch to his left, but the ball hits him awkwardly on the wrist.
It would've been a worldie had it stuck, but still a chance.
Potts nearly makes something happen - I don't think that counts, though.
He gets one to nip back in sharply to Shreyas Iyer and pin him high on the leg. That's the first time we've seen the ball do anything.
TMS bingo - the "makes something happen" klaxon!

Plenty of food for thought for the England captain, Ben Stokes. It looks like Matthew Potts is going to come into the attack and it feels like every time he has been introduced, he has made something happen.
I know Broad got Pujara out with some filth outside the off stump but I don't think it should be a legitimate tactic.
He does the same to Shreyas Iyer and is smashed away for four with disdain.

What a lovely shot from Pant, controlled and he's timed it perfectly. What has impressed me in this innings is that he has held back and shown he is able to adapt to what his team needs.
James Anderson tests Rishabh Pant with a short ball but it's a pie and the batter pulls it away for four with ease.
The pitch is so slow he could wait about two minutes for the ball to actually reach him.
We will hold you to that one Jon, but if someone could help me out and tell me what an eternity ring actually is, that'd be great.

Jon Hayes: I said to my wife with that wicket: I’ll buy you an eternity ring if we win this one/do it again - i.e. chase 300ish in a day…

Shreyas Iyer is the new batter.
Replays show Pujara leaving the pitch and waving his bat around in frustration. He really did give that away.

He has gifted his wicket and that is so uncharacteristic.

Perhaps just a momentary lapse in concentration. England need another couple of wickets, can they get them before lunch?
Pujara c Lees b Broad 66 (Ind 153-4)
Broad strikes in his first over of the day!
It's a proper filthy delivery as well. Short and wide outside the off stump and Cheteshwar Pujara, who was playing so cautiously, has tried to smash it for four but instead it's gone straight to backward point.
He is furious with himself but England are elated.

Even while he has struggled, Pujara's manner of play has never changed. He was dropped for those two Tests at home, managed to get a contract at Sussex and has scored big runs.
He is one of those very committed players.
Anderson finds Pujara's edge but it flies all the way along the ground for four.
That's the most exciting thing that's happened for a while. Jimmy looks ... disgruntled.

There is no real flight and guile on these balls from Root. They're fired in and that makes it easier for Pant to just use the pace.
Joe Root ambles through another over that concedes just two.
There's just nothing happening out there for England. I'm not sure why Root is bowling.

India look in so much control, there is not a lot going on with the ball. Anderson has bowled tight but India look like they can set the pace.
