    Vilas c Compton b Milnes 124 (Kent v Lancashire 295-4)

Kent get themselves a long-overdue breakthrough at Canterbury.

Dane Vilas' fine 124 comes to an end as he gets a leading edge on a delivery from Matt Milnes and Ben Compton takes the catch in the gully.

It took a long time for it to come but Leicestershire have eventually taken a wicket this afternoon. The last wicket to fall was on the hour mark this morning. And there was nothing until after tea.

Durham were 34-3 when David Bedingham and Sean Dickson got together and put on 231 for the fourth wicket. The partnership was four short of a new record for any wicket for Durham against Leicestershire.

It ended when Dickson went LBW to Ed Barnes for 120. Bedingham has 129 and there are 18 overs left today. The lights have now been turned on though because it has got gloomy so we might not see the full 18 overs.

    Durham are 273-4.

  3. Alastair Cook passes 25,000 first-class career runspublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 14 April 2022
    Breaking

    Somerset 109 v Essex 72-1

Alastair Cook with a trademark square cut for four off Ben Green to take him to 35 not out but also past 25,000 first-class career runs!

That tally has included 70 hundreds and 117 half-centuries at an average just over 47.

Is he on course for century number 71 here?

    Browne c Abell b C Overton 25 (Somerset 109 v Essex 64-1)

    Browne outImage source, Rex Features

Somerset with a much-needed breakthrough in Essex's reply.

Nick Browne edges Craig Overton to third slip and after a bit of a juggling act and some adjustment, Tom Abell clings on at a second attempt diving to his right.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    M Taylor c Hill b Rauf 4 (Glos 183-8)

This has been quite a collapse from Gloucestershire post tea...

Haris Rauf has his third in quick succession as Matt Taylor can only fend one off into the hands of third slip.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

Gohar st Duke b Bess 0 (Glos 178-7 v Yorks)

Dom Bess finally gains his reward! Zafar Gohar is lured down the track and Harry Duke removes the bails.

Marcus Harris remains unbeaten on 106, but he must be worried about running out of partners now.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Amla c Brown b Holland 73 (Surrey 233-3 v Hants)

Ian Holland is the partnership-breaker again!

Hashim Amla has a waft outside off stump and Ben Brown takes the catch to remove him for 73.

  8. 100 runs

100 for Dane Vilaspublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Kent v Lancashire 253-3

    VilasImage source, Getty Images

Ton up at Canterbury for Lancashire skipper Dane Vilas.

He drives Hamidullah Qadri for four to take Lancashire past 250 in the process.

Sees him reach his century off 137 balls with his 11th four.

  9. 100 runs

Harris hits hundred on Gloucestershire debutpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Glos 176-6 v Yorks

No hat-trick for Haris (Rauf) - instead it's a century for (Marcus) Harris!

The Australian opener has held this Gloucestershire innings together on his debut and punches his near namesake through the covers for four to reach three figures from exactly 200 balls.

His new side will need a few more from him...

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Lace lbw b Rauf 0 (Glos 167-6 v Yorks)

Well, well... Haris Rauf will be on a hat-trick at the start of his next over!

Tom Lace goes first ball, given out leg before to a yorker and Gloucestershire are suddenly looking in trouble here.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Higgins c Fisher b Rauf 6 (Glos 167-5 v Yorks)

Haris Rauf claims his first Yorkshire wicket!

Unfortunately for the visitors, it isn't that of Marcus Harris - but they'll be happy to see the back of the dangerous Ryan Higgins just the same.

The all-rounder pulls Rauf straight to midwicket, where Fisher takes the catch.

  12. 100 runs

100 for Sean Dicksonpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Durham 230-3 v Leicestershire

And another Durham centurion up at Chester-le-Street.

Sean Dickson follows David Bedingham with a landmark of his own just after tea, coming off 181 balls and including 13 fours.

This fourth-wicket partnership now worth 196 for Durham.

  13. Somerset being put to swordpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Somerset 109 v Essex 45-0

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset at Taunton

Somerset's bowlers so far failing to upset the equilibrium of Essex's vastly-experienced opening pair of Nick Browne and Sir Alastair Cook.

Which suggests that the home county's abject total of 109 was more down to bad batting than a treacherous pitch.

Sir Alastair needs 10 more for 25,000 runs in first-class cricket and like so many other batting records - Sir Jack Hobbs' 100th century springs to mind, or maybe Archie MacLaren's 424 - it looks as though it will be achieved at Taunton against Somerset.

Scant comfort for a downcast and largely-silent crowd, who have so far had only Tom Lammonby's gritty 48 to lift their spirits.

  14. 'Purposeful' Duckett shines for Nottspublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Nottinghamshire 223-4 v Glamorgan

    Nick Webb
BBC Radio Wales at Trent Bridge

    DuckettImage source, Rex Features

A purposeful century from Ben Duckett has put Notts in line for a decent first-innings score against Glamorgan despite being put in to bat by David Lloyd.

Duckett reached three figures in the over before tea off 169 balls with some aggressive intent in a stand of 81 with Steven Mullaney (29 not out).

The visitors’ bowlers have not bowled accurately enough to put their opponents under consistent pressure with Duckett and Mullaney accelerating in the second half of the afternoon session after a quiet period after lunch.

Timm van der Gugten struck twice in quick succession as Joe Clarke played on for 35 and Joey Evison, promoted after a century last week, fell lbw without scoring.

Glamorgan’s Australian star Marnus Labuschagne was the seventh bowler used just before the interval, but purveyed seam rather than his usual leg-spin.

  15. 150 runs

150 for Shan Masoodpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Derbyshire 244-2 v Sussex

    MasoodImage source, Rex Features

Shan Masood keeps on churning out the runs for Derbyshire and settling into life at his new county very nicely.

He reaches 150 off 191 balls and has struck 17 fours so far.

  16. 100 runs

Duckett hits Trent Bridge tonpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Notts 221-4 v Glamorgan

That's three figures for Ben Duckett! He's 101 not out as Notts advance to 221-4.

Steven Mullaney is with him on 27 not out and the partnership stands at 79.

  18. Derbyshire in commandpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Derbyshire 237-2 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex at Derby

Derbyshire are batting themselves into a commanding position on a good pitch and without losing a wicket in the session.

Shan Masood (146 not out) has batted majestically with shots all around the wicket, and has punished the young Sussex attack dispatching any loose deliveries to the boundary.

Wayne Madsen has been the perfect foil adding an unbeaten 54 for the third wicket, as Derbyshire have rattled along at the best part of four-an-over.

  19. Bedingham delivers another ton-fullpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Durham 224-3 v Leicestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle at Chester-le-Street

    Bedingham tonImage source, Getty Images

    Another 100 for David Bedingham.

Nationally, he led the way with the bat for most of the season last year and he's continued in a similar style this season too.

He made 76 last week and now has his first century of the summer in game number two. It came in 144 balls and included nine fours and two sixes.

Importantly, he's rescued Durham from a position where they were struggling on 34-3 and has added 188 with Sean Dickson who has 98 not out.

It is Durham's highest fourth-wicket stand v Leicestershire in first-class cricket.

  20. Tea at Bristol - Harris eyeing ton on Glos debutpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Glos 155-4 v Yorks

It's nicely poised as the players head off for tea, with Marcus Harris still unbeaten on 88 and Ryan Higgins alongside him on two.

Yorkshire have bowled well, however, with Dom Bess helping to apply the brakes and Matt Fisher picking up three of the four wickets to fall so far.
