    Charlesworth c Duke b Fisher 15 (Gloucestershire 50-1 v Hampshire)

Matt Fisher has been really impressive for Yorkshire this morning and he's the man who makes the breakthrough!

Live text commentator's curse strikes for Josh Bohannon!

Matt Milnes gets one to keep a bit lower as the right-hander is squared up and trapped in front.

Former Kent seamer-turned-umpire Martin Saggers would've enjoyed that in his day bowling on this ground and duly raises his finger.

    Surrey 62-1 v Hants

Hashim Amla (Surrey)Image source, Getty Images

Hashim Amla's not looked all that comfortable so far at the Oval, but he's still there as Surrey regroup following the wicket of Rory Burns.

The former South Africa skipper survived two good lbw shouts from Ian Holland, who's been the pick of the bowlers so far.

However, Amla's just taken a boundary off Mohammad Abbas who is back for his second spell of the morning. Ryan Patel is still there on 26 not out.

    Somerset five down now...

Caught Cook, bowled Cook the combination for Essex as Alastair holds on to a simple chance at first slip off Sam.

Lewis Goldsworthy the unfortunate man to depart without scoring.

  9. Tough morning all round for Durhampublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Durham 42-3 v Leicestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle at Chester-le-Street

It's been a tough morning for Durham after they were put in by The Foxes.

Their task made worse by the loss of opener Alex Lees just before play through injury.

So it was all about South African Keegan Petersen and his debut, hours after stepping off a plane at Newcastle Airport.

He was on three when he dragged a Will Davis delivery onto his middle stump.

Durham had already lost Michael Jones lbs for five by that point, as he left a ball from Chris Wright, which thudded into his pads.

It's likely Jones would not have played if Lees had been fit.

Skipper Scott Borthwick faced 27 balls for his two runs, edging Ed Barnes to Colin Ackermann in the slips.

It is overcast and the ball is moving around. It's been a good toss to win.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Abell c Lawrence b S Cook 11 (Somerset 49-4 v Essex)

Essex do pick up a fourth wicket, but not the man who they put down a few moments ago.

Somerset skipper Tom Abell is the man to depart this time.

He tries to shuffle out of his crease against Sam Cook, but as he defends on the front foot, the ball balloons off his bat-pad and out to Dan Lawrence at cover to take a simple catch.

  11. Harris settling into the groovepublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Glos 37-0 v Yorks

Gloucestershire fans are getting their first look at Australian opener Marcus Harris after his switch from Leicestershire... and so far it's been gritty rather than spectacular.

Harris had a close call against another overseas debutant - Yorkshire's Haris Rauf - with an edge that flew to safety on 18 but he's progressed to 30 now.

He's positively flying compared with opening partner Ben Charlesworth, who is still on seven after facing 57 deliveries so far.

  12. dropped catch

Lammonby dropped on 6published at 12:28 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Somerset 44-3 v Essex

Chance goes begging for Essex to increase their grip over Somerset.

Tom Lammonby is put down at second slip by Simon Harmer off Shane Snater.

Looked like a regulation chance for the South African who normally gobbles those up - not to be this time.

Can Lammonby cash in on his extra life?

  13. Nobody likes getting out like this...published at 12:24 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Nottinghamshire 72-2 v Glamorgan

Agonising moment earlier for Nottinghamshire opener Haseeb Hameed as his innings of 34 was cut off in its prime by this piece of opportunism by Glamorgan....

And Essex's decision at the toss this morning looking vindicated as they claim a third Somerset wicket.

Mark Steketee gets his second as James Hildreth edges a rising delivery through to Adam Wheater, who once again does the job for Essex with the gloves on.

Hildreth on his way for just 5 and Somerset 32-3.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Wells c Robinson b Gilchrist 39 (Kent v Lancashire 51-2)

And another wicket down at Canterbury.

The Nathan Gilchrist-Ollie Robinson combo does the business again for Kent.

It's Luke Wells who falls this time after looking imposing with his fast start.

He is furious with himself though after not quite managing to pull his bat away in time before the finest of edges goes through to the Kent keeper.

  16. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

Three matches under way this morning in Division Two.

At Derby, Derbyshire so far making the most of their decision to bat first against Sussex on 46-0.

Shan Masood (29 not out) seemingly picking up where he left off last week from his two half-centuries against Middlesex.

At The Riverside, Chester-le-Street, Durham have lost two early wickets after being put in by Leicestershire.

Michael Jones (5) and Keegan Petersen (3) on his debut, both falling cheaply with the hosts 24-2.

And at Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire were put in by Glamorgan, but so far have lost just the wicket of Ben Slater (17) to move on to 54-1.

    Burns c Dawson b Holland 21 (Surrey 39-1 v Hampshire)

  18. Wells ticking along for Lancspublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Kent v Lancashire 47-1

Luke Wells seemingly undeterred by the earlier loss of opening partner George Balderson.

He is already 39 not out off just 50 balls for Lancashire at Canterbury.

A selection of some of his early strokes is below.

  19. Surrey looking steady so farpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 14 April 2022

    Surrey 23-0 v Hampshire

It was a big call by Hampshire captain James Vince to ask Surrey to bat first after winning the toss.

Yes, the wicket is a little green and there’s a little movement for the seamers but there’s nothing that the batters should fear.

Maybe Hampshire’s decision to bowl first had a little to do with last years fixture at The Oval?

Back then they were bowled out for just 92 in their first innings on a similar looking track.

    Renshaw b S Cook 7 (Somerset 22-2 v Essex)

Second wicket down for Somerset and it's an all-too-brief return to the crease from their perspective for Matt Renshaw.

He is bowled by Sam Cook as he tries to pull his bat out of the way for a leave but only manages to chop it back on to his stumps and is bowled.
