    Glos 227 & 359 v Yorks 376 & 54-2

This is boiling up nicely as we head into the final session.

Yorkshire have found the going difficult so far as they chase 211 for victory, losing Adam Lyth and James Wharton cheaply.

George Hill is still there on 19 and so is Dawid Malan (11*) - although the latter has led a charmed life so far.

The impressive Ajeet Singh-Dale had a strong leg before appeal turned down, while spinner Zafar Gohar thought he had Malan caught at slip in the next over.

So here's the equation - Yorkshire need 157 more runs, Gloucestershire need eight more wickets and 37 overs remain.

    Kent 260 & 240-9 v Lancashire 506

Can Ben Compton manage to make it two hundreds in the match for Kent?

He pulls away a long hop from Matt Parkinson for four and then adds a single to move into the 90s.

Now he needs a little bit of help from last man Jackson Bird.

    Kent are only six behind.

Leus du Plooy floats one up, Cheteshwar Pujara whips it away for one and reaches 150 off 326 balls. A high-class innings and most of it played in tandem with Tom Haines, who is now 229 not out.

It's looking like Lancashire are on their way to victory at Kent after Hasan Ali knocks back Nathan Gilchrist's off stump.

Jackson Bird is in at number 11 with opener Ben Compton still there on 84 not out after more than 13 hours of batting in the match.

    Breaking

    Notts 302 & 242 v Glamorgan 379 & 166-3

That's the way to finish a game - James Pattinson drops short and Kiran Carlson pulls it away over long leg for six.

He finishes 47 not out, with Marnus Labuschagne unbeaten on 50, as Glamorgan win at Trent Bridge.

The runs provided by their tail-enders proved vital as did the bowling efforts of Timm van der Gugten and Michael Hogan in the Notts second innings.

A great result for the Welsh county.

    Wharton b Singh-Dale 11 (Yorks 30-2)

Ajeet Singh-Dale has looked dangerous throughout his opening spell - and he's finally gained some reward!

James Wharton dug out one slinging yorker earlier in the over, but the next one pierces his defences and Yorkshire are two down.

for Marnus Labuschagnepublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 17 April 2022

    Notts 302 & 242 v Glamorgan 379 & 160-3

Marnus Labuschgane dabs fellow Aussie James Pattinson down to third man for four and then adds a single to reach a 93-ball half-century.

    Glamorgan are almost there.

    Notts 302 & 242 v Glamorgan 379 & 155-3

Having flashed one past the slips for four off James Pattinson to bring up a 50 partnership with Marnus Labuschagne, Kiran Carlson plays a much more controlled shot to the boundary in the paceman's next over to take Glamorgan's total past 150.

He is now 40 not out and Labuschagne has 43. Only 11 more needed.

It's all proceeding at a fairly pedestrian pace at Chester-le-Street, but credit where it's due to Leicestershire opener Sam Evans.

Evans has looked solid throughout, completing his half-century from 114 balls.

A mention also for Durham debutant Oliver Gibson - the young seamer has picked up his maiden first-class wicket, with George Rhodes caught down the leg side for 23.

Colin Ackermann is out there alongside Evans, but he's scored only four in 40 minutes. That should give you an idea of where this game is heading, with Leicestershire set an unlikely 395 to win.

    Kent 260 & 224-8 v Lancashire 506

Ben Compton will shortly equal the amount of time he spent at the crease in the first innings (394 minutes) - that is more than 13 hours of batting.

He is 83 not out and Nathan Gilchrist has yet to open his account. The home side need 22 to make Lancashire bat again.

    Notts 302 & 242 v Glamorgan 379 & 133-3

Easy pickings for Kiran Carlson as Brett Hutton strays in line and that is four down to fine leg.

Carlson uses his feet well to loft Liam Patterson-White to mid-off for another boundary and the victory line is coming into sharper focus for Glamorgan.

Carlson is 31 not out, Marnus Labuschagne has 40 and they need 26 more.

Glamorgan have not won a Championship game at Trent Bridge since 1998 (thanks, Nick Webb of BBC Wales Sport) - but this is the first time they have played red-ball cricket at the ground for 15 years.

    Qadri b Ali 77 (Kent 260 & 221-8 v Lancashire 506)

Finally the stand is broken as Hamidullah Qadri is fractionally late on a delivery from Hasan Ali which cuts back into him off the pitch.

He is gone for a career-best 77 from 195 balls after a 139-run partnership with Ben Compton which gave Kent hope of saving this game.

But they are still 25 behind as Nathan Gilchrist comes to the crease.

    Lyth c Gohar b Taylor 4 (Yorks 11-1)

Having said the Yorkshire openers had weathered the storm... they've lost their first wicket!

Adam Lyth is the man to go, attempting to hook Matt Taylor and top-edging it to long leg.

James Wharton is out there to replace him.

    Notts 302 & 242 v Glamorgan 379 & 121-3

Marnus Labuschagne dismissively crunches Dane Paterson for four at the start of a new over at Trent Bridge. The Australian advances to 35 not out and Glamorgan are just 45 short of their target.

    Glos 227 & 359 v Yorks 376 & 11-0

A couple of scares for the Yorkshire openers, but they've weathered the initial barrage from the home bowlers as they chase 211 for victory.

Matt Taylor will be kicking himself for not successfully running out George Hill with a throw from mid-on - the run always looked highly ambitious but Taylor's shy at the stumps failed to connect.

Meanwhile, Ajeet Singh-Dale startled Adam Lyth with his first ball - an absolute snorter that lifted and took a leading edge but, fortunately for the left-hander, it fell to safety.

Exactly 200 needed from 51 overs.

Hamidullah Qadri has grown in stature as a batter with this innings.

The former Derbyshire spinner finds the cover boundary off Tom Bailey - his ninth four - and is now 74 not out, one more than partner Ben Compton.

Their stand is worth 129 and Kent are only 35 behind.

No change at the Incora County Ground where Tom Haines and Cheteshwar Pujara have been together for Sussex since the start of play.

A single each off Wayne Madsen takes the total to exactly 400 - Haines is 219 not out and his Indian partner is on 124.

If you were compiling a list of county cricketers who tend to make things happen, Ryan Higgins would surely be included.

The Gloucestershire all-rounder hasn't really done that yet in this game, but there's still time - 55 overs, to be precise.

So far, Higgins and Matt Taylor haven't given Yorkshire any opportunity to make a flying start in this run chase - just eight runs from the first five overs.

Adam Lyth and George Hill are the men at the crease, with 203 more needed for a White Rose victory.
