    Middlesex 210-3 v Leicestershire 149

Middlesex opener Mark Stoneman has just brought up his century at Lord's as the hosts continue to dominate Leicestershire.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Notts are running through Worcestershire's top order in their second innings.

Stuart Broad has just dismissed Azhar Ali to leave the Pears 18-3, still trailing by 89. Luke Fletcher removed both openers. It could well be over inside two days at Trent Bridge.

    Somerset 401-8 v Warwickshire

This is a really useful ninth-wicket partnership from Jack Leach and Josh Davey as Somerset bring up their 400.

Both batters are on 14 in a stand worth 28.

They're just beginning to frustrate the Bears.

    Vilas c Brown b Barker 6 (Hampshire 246 v Lancashire 83-5)

More superb stuff from Keith Barker for Hampshire.

Coming round the wicket, he again gets one to rise enough to catch the edge of Dane Vilas' bat with the Lancashire captain trying to get forward to negate any bounce.

The Lancs skipper is reluctant to go, but umpire Nick Cooks tells him his stay at the crease is over.

The visitors have not been in a position like this so far this season.

    Yorkshire 6-0 v Kent 291

It's been a watchful start from Yorkshire's openers Adam Lyth and Dimuth Karunaratne.

Grant Stewart has begun with four maidens in a row.

    Essex v Northants 282-8

A more sedate first hour in Chelmsford as Northants continue to dig in.

They have quietly accumulated 49 runs off 18 overs for the loss of Matthew Kelly and denied Essex full bowling points.

Luke Procter is anchoring the innings excellently with 76 not out.

110 overs gone in Somerset's first innings and they miss out on the full five batting bonus points that 400 would have brought them.

But they've lost four wickets this morning and a lot of momentum has gone out of their batting.

  7. wicket

    Jacks c&b Payne 13 (Gloucestershire v Surrey 349-7)

Entering the final over for bonus points, Will Jacks chases the 13 needed by Surrey for a third batting point.

He creams three successive fours off David Payne, but requiring one from the final ball, he tries a huge heave.

Jacks succeeds only in sending it high in the air and Payne takes a simple catch off his own bowling.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 29 April 2022

    Balderson c Brown b Abbott 15 (Hampshire 246 v Lancashire 76-4)

    Game on now!!

George Balderson has battled hard but he is undone by a super delivery from Kyle Abbott.

The South Africa man hits the ideal fourth stump line coming round the wicket, gets it to straighten and Balderson nicks it behind the stumps.

  9. wicket

    de Grandhomme lbw b M Taylor 11 (Gloucestershire v Surrey 336-6)

Colin de Grandhomme may have enjoyed more than his fair share of luck but he's a dangerous batter when in the mood.

He helps himself to a maximum as he hoicks Matt Taylor over deep square for six.

But the bowler bounces back in style next ball, going fuller and trapping the burly New Zealander LBW in front for an eventful 11.

  10. 'Broad's batting cameo'published at 11:51 British Summer Time 29 April 2022

    Notts 266 v Worcs 159

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

With the country’s cricket press focussing on his bowling, Stuart Broad produced a batting cameo to bolster Nottinghamshire’s position at Trent Bridge.

The England international began the fun by taking 18 off Charlie Morris’ third over of the day.

He hit the same bowler for two sixes and was on the brink of a rare half century for his county when Luke Fletcher and Dane Paterson both fell at the other end.

With a deficit of 107 Worcestershire need Jake Libby and Ed Pollock to set a solid platform before lunch.

    Bohannon c Weatherley b Barker 33 (Hampshire 246 v Lancashire 76-3)

    Big breakthrough for Hampshire!

What was I saying about Josh Bohannon? He is out for 33 after Keith Barker gets a touch of extra bounce. Bohannon can only edge it to third slip where Joe Weatherley takes his second good catch of the morning.

Hampshire keeping themselves in the contest.

Could be a good afternoon for batting.

Nottinghamshire have been bowled out for 266 by Worcestershire at Trent Bridge. Stuart Broad was left unbeaten on 45 from 27 balls, but he's helped them to a handy lead of 107.

Derbyshire are stumbling a bit against Glamorgan. They're now 294-6.

Middlesex opener Mark Stoneman is approaching a century. He's on 88 with his side 180-2 against Leicestershire and already leading by 31.

Sussex have lost Tom Haines for 54, but they're still in a good position on 105-2 against Durham. The visitors made 223 in their first innings at Hove.

    Hampshire 246 v Lancashire 76-2

You can tell a batter in form and Josh Bohannon is exactly that after his career-best 231 versus Gloucestershire.

He has quickly eased his way to 33 with five boundaries at almost a run a ball.

At the other end, George Balderson's 15 has come off 66 balls, although he did have to bat in more testing conditions at the end of the first day.

  15. wicket

    Gregory b Hannon-Dalby 3 (Somerset 373-8 v Warwickshire)

Warwickshire get their third wicket in four balls! All bowled!

Lewis Gregory is castled by Oliver Hannon-Dalby. Jack Leach is the new man in.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 29 April 2022

    C Overton b Miles 0 (Somerset 373-7 v Warwickshire)

    GONE FIRST BALL!

Craig Overton misses a ball that nips back in from Craig Miles and the off stump is sent cartwheeling.

Miles is on a hat-trick but it's the end of the over.

    Gloucestershire v Surrey 325-5

New Zealand all-rounder and Surrey debutant Colin de Grandhomme is living dangerously.

He has only faced five balls and is yet to score a run but he has been bowled off a no ball and then dropped by Miles Hammond at first slip to leave Mohammad Amir fuming.

Five chances now have gone down for Gloucestershire this innings - that is simply not good enough.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 29 April 2022

    Banton b Miles 57 (Somerset 373-6 v Warwickshire)

This wasn't the start Somerset were hoping for.

Tom Banton shoulders arms to Craig Miles and the ball clatters into the timbers.

He's on his way for 57.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 29 April 2022

Quinn b Thompson 4 (Yorkshire v Kent 291 all out)

    That'll do it.

Matt Quinn plays all around a ball that nips back in from Jordan Thompson and the stumps are sent flying.

Yorkshire have taken the last four wickets for just 21 runs this morning in double quick time.

Dave - NFFC: Broad with a licence to swing the willow is dangerous. Big runs in context of game.

He's up to 39 off just 24 balls with Notts 253-8. The lead is almost 100 over Worcestershire.
