    Northants 430 v Kent 519-9 dec & 144-0

Zak Crawley gets away with one at Wantage Road.

He plays defensively at an innocuous delivery from Josh Cobb but the ball finds the edge - the keeper fails to take the catch, though, and it runs away to the boundary..

Crawley moves on to 81 not out.

  2. 100 runs

for Will Rhodespublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 234-3

    Yes, he will.

Will Rhodes cuts and although he can't pierce the field, he can take two runs to bring up his first hundred of the season, and against his former club. It has taken him 268 balls and arrives with the help of 12 boundaries.

Sam Hain wins the race as he dabs Tom Loten down to third man for two runs. His 13th first-class hundred has taken 308 balls and included a six and 11 fours. A tremendous effort for his side. Now, will Will Rhodes follow suit?

  4. 50 runs

for Ben Comptonpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Northants 430 v Kent 519-9 dec & 130

Yet another Ben Compton half-century arrived from 110 balls with a single square of the wicket off Ben Curran.

He has now gone past 50 on eight occasions this season. No question who Mr Consistency is in 2022.

    Stoneman c Eckersley b Trevaskis 29 (Middlesex 422 & 47-2 v Durham 350 & 188)

A second wicket for Durham and Mark Stoneman departs for 29.

The opener tries to sweep Liam Trevaskis away to the boundary but gets an edge which is gratefully accepted by wicket keeper Ned Eckersley.

Peter Handscomb is the new man in and settles the early nerves with four runs.

Another 65 needed for a Middlesex victory.

  6. Postpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 226-3

George Hill finds the edge but the ball falls short of second slip. A moment of good fortune for Will Rhodes on 98. He was out for 99 against Northants in Warwickshire's last game.

  7. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorkshire 449 v Warwickshire 244 & 226-3

Which Warwickshire batter will reach three figures first?

Sam Hain flashes Tom Loten's first ball after tea away square for four.

He is now 96 - partner Will Rhodes has 98 - and the stand is worth 201.

  8. Postpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Middlesex 422 & 44-1 v Durham 350 & 188

Mark Stoneman and Josh de Caires have done a good job of settling things down after the loss of that early wicket.

Stoneman has despatched consecutive Brydon Carse deliveries to the boundary to bring the number of runs required down to 73.

  9. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Northants 430 & 118-0 v Kent 519-9 dec

We have Ben Curran, brother of Sam and Tom, bowling at Wantage Road after tea.

He is very much what you might call an 'occasional spinner' but his opening over only costs him four singles.

  10. Jamieson looks lively for Kiwispublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A half century for Sussex opener Ali Orr was the highlight of the afternoon session at Hove, an innings that included three sixes.

Kylie Jamieson bowled an impressive spell down the hill generating a good deal of pace, as the New Zealander’ looked to step up their preparations for the first Test in a couple of weeks’ time.

Orr made 59 and Sussex are now 188-6, replying to 342-3 declared by the tourists.

WICKETpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Robson c Eckersley b Raine 2 (Middlesex 422 17-0 v Durham 350 & 188)

    One down for Durham!

Sam Robson misjudges Ben Raine's delivery and ends up on his haunches reaching a little and it takes an edge en route to Ned Eckersley.

Middlesex require 100 with plenty of overs left - sounds simple - but a couple more quick wickets would make it a little nervier.

  14. Simpson equals own recordpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Middlesex 422 & 15-0 v Durham 350 & 188

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

John Simpson has taken nine catches in this match, something he's done four times now for Middlesex - and it is the seventh time it has happened at the club.

The ninth was Brydon Carse who was on 19 when he was given out caught behind off Toby Roland-Jones. Looking at the TV replay, it looks like it may have gone between bat and pad and the batsman appeared to ask why he had been given out.

Toby Roland-Jones finished with 6-35 in 18 overs and 10 wickets in the match.

I don't think they have anywhere near enough on the board, and with 44 overs available, Middlesex appear to have more than enough time secure the win.

  16. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Northants 430 v Kent 519-9 dec & 114-0

Zak Crawley drives Emilio Gay for four and that is tea at Wantage Road.

The England opener is 60 not out and Ben Compton has 42.

Crawley would love to make a hundred with the Test series against New Zealand only a few days away, while Compton needs another 48 runs to reach 900 for the season.

  17. Tea at Headingleypublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorkshire 449 v Warwickshire 244 & 222-3

It was about 16:40 yesterday that Yorkshire dismissed Dom Sibley - and they have been searching for their next wicket ever since.

Will Rhodes is 98 not out and Sam Hain has 92 - the Warwickshire pair having so far added 197 for the fourth wicket.

The lead is 17 and barring a sudden clatter of wickets following the interval, it looks like we are heading for a draw.

  18. Postpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Durham 350 & 188 v Middlesex 422 & 2-0

Mark Stoneman and Sam Robson each take a single off Ben Raine at the start of Middlesex's run-chase at Lord's.

Given they only need 117, it should be more of a run saunter.

  19. 50 runs

for Zak Crawleypublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Northants 430 v Kent 519-9 dec & 95-0

Zak Crawley's second fifty of the game at Wantage Road.

This one arrives off 91 balls with a boundary, eased through the covers, from the bowling of spinner Rob Keogh.

It's the fifth four of his innings so far.

DURHAM ALL OUT FOR 188published at 15:23 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Rushworth c Roland-Jones c Murtagh 0 (Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 188)

When he's not bowling them he's catching them - Toby Roland-Jones pouches the ball as Chris Rushworth tries to clear the ropes from Tim Murtagh's bowling

Roland-Jones was on for his best figures if he could have taken the final wicket but nonetheless he'll be content with his performance.

Middlesex have been set 117 for victory.
