    Northants 430 v Kent 519-9 dec & 84-0

An unremarkable moment perhaps, but Ben Compton's single off Emilio Gay takes his seasonal tally to 845 runs - making him the Championship's highest scorer.

Unless Harry Brook gets another bat at Headingley, the left-hander is not going to be shifted.

Dave: Well that was nice and easy. Here's hoping for a similarly serene victory for #NFFC next Sunday.

It was a stroll for Notts today. Forest take on Huddersfield for a place in the Premiership at Wembley next Sunday.

Graham: Yorkshire struggling with a day 4 bowl out again. Someone needs to talk Adil into a few red ball games!

    Carse c Simpson b Roland-Jones 19 (Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 181-9)

We said Toby Roland-Jones was on the prowl for more wickets... and he's just caught his prey!

Brydon Carse gets an inside edge which carries to John Simpson behind the stumps.

The Durham man doesn't look entirely convinced and he waits for confirmation from the umpire before trudging off.

Roland-Jones now on figures of 6-35 from 18 overs, with Durham leading by 109.

Warwickshire clear deficitpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 206-3

Warwickshire take the lead at Headingley and that's quite a way to do it as Sam Hain uppercuts Matthew Revis over point for six.

He has 85 and Will Rhodes is 91 not out - but a sudden flurry of wickets and this could still be tough afternoon for the Bears.

George Hill will take up the attack for Yorkshire.

  7. Postpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 197-3

Will Rhodes was cramped a little bit for room there but still manages to pull Matthew Revis away for four. Only eight to clear the deficit now.

  8. Postpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 165-6

That's a bit more like it from Durham.

Ben Raine (26*) and Brydon Carse (6*) release the shackles a little with the first boundaries for some time.

The Durham lead is up to 93.

A half-century partnership for the Kent openers as Zak Crawley uses his feet and drills the ball back past spinner Rob Keogh for four runs.

He is 36 not out and Ben Compton has 13.

  10. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 193-3

    Close.

A bit of extra lift from Steven Patterson and he finds the edge of Will Rhodes' bat.

It doesn't quite carry to Joe Root at slip and the former England skipper signals for a spot of medical attention to his hand.

  11. Postpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 187-3

Eight overs with the new ball have brought Yorkshire no reward.

Matthew Revis will try his luck - Warwickshire just 19 behind now.

Sam Hain takes a single from his first delivery and he is 77 not out.

    Trevaskis c Simpson b Bamber 8 (Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 140-8)

Another one down and it's the same John Simpson/Ethan Bamber combination!

Liam Trevaskis tries to defend as Bamber comes around the wicket but there's a slight edge and Simpson snaffles it.

Two more wickets to get for Middlesex, with Durham's lead now at 68.

  13. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Northants 430 v Kent 519-9 dec & 29-0

Zak Crawley picks up three runs off Tom Taylor, followed by five dot balls to Ben Compton, who has made three from 32 balls. Crawley is on 24 and Kent's lead is 118, though that is academic at this stage.

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 174-3

They certainly are stepping on it at Headingley now - Sam Hain square cuts for four off Jordan Thompson and finds the off-side boundary again two balls later, this time with a more perpendicular bat. He advances to 69.

  16. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 166-3

Will Rhodes edges past the slips for four off Steve Patterson. Much better next ball as he cover drives for another boundary.

After denying himself for so long, the left-hander looks like he fancies opening up with Warwickshire now only 39 behind.

Rhodes has 75 and Sam Hain 61.

  17. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 155-3

Jordan Thompson tries a short one to Will Rhodes, but the left-hander has ample time to pull it away for four. He is now 67 not out and his partnership with Sam Hain is worth 130.

    Salisbury c Simpson b Bamber 45 (Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 127-7)

First wicket after lunch at Lord's and Matthew Salisbury won't be making a half-century today after all.

Ethan Bamber has his second wicket of the day as he tempts Salisbury into a shot and finds the edge.

Middlesex will target cleaning up the tail quickly with the Durham lead only 56.

  19. Essex set sights on top twopublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Essex captain Tom Westley was delighted with this comprehensive victory over one of their pre-season title rivals.

He agreed that it was a pitch that Essex would like to wrap up and take away with them, having produced both first innings runs and the turn and bounce that allowed Simon Harmer the opportunity to take his first significant haul of the season.

Westley pointed out that Essex have a habit of going on winning runs so much will depend on how the Chelmsford pitch plays in three of their next four games. They will surely need results at home to close the gap on the top two.

Lancashire will view this game as an aberration. All bar the openers were batting in a Championship second innings for the first time this season. Their seam bowling resources will be depleted due to injury and international calls but expect their all-round strength to keep them in contention.
