Two wickets in four balls for spinner Zafar Gohar.

Matt Critchley, on seven, edges to first slip, where Ryan Higgins takes a good catch to his left, and then Shane Snater attempts a wild slog and is stumped for one.

Wonder what Alastair Cook made of that shot? He's 130 not out at the other end.

    Kent 121-3 v Northants 303

WICKETpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

    Gabriel b Lawes 0 (Yorkshire 521 v Surrey)

And just like that, Yorkshire's first innings is over as Tom Lawes has Steven Patterson caught behind for seven and then bowls Shannon Gabriel with his next delivery for figures of 4-51.

Jonny Tattersall is left on 180 not out - a fantastic innings, lasting 344 balls and featuring 23 fours.

Now the task for Yorkshire is to take 20 Surrey wickets. No easy task with few demons in the pitch as of yet.

SOMERSET ALL OUTpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

van der Merwe b Wood 55 (Lancs v Somerset 446)

Roelof van der Merwe has got full licence to have a dip here and he's taking full advantage.

He swung Jack Morley for two sixes, taking his tally to three, and got to fifty in 61 balls.

Morley was biffed out of the attack but back came Luke Wood to end it.

Somerset have done jolly well to post a large total having been 105-4 just after lunch yesterday.

The last six wickets have got through over 95 overs.

This is only the third time this season they've put up over 400 runs.

On both those occasions - home to Warwickshire and away to Gloucestershire - they won by an innings.

A pair of singles, one each for Jonny Tattersall and Srteven Patterson, and the Yorkshire total reaches 500 at Scarborough.

Encouragement for Surrey at the start of the afternoon session as Jordan Thompson goes right back onto his stumps and is plumb lbw to young seamer Tom Lawes.

Jonny Tattersall, on 163, now in danger of running out of partners.

  14. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

    Zafar GoharImage source, Rex Features

Looks like Alastair Cook is settling in for a biggie, having completed his hundred just before lunch, but he has lost partner Paul Walter.

Zafar Gohar finds a little bit of turn outside off-stump and the left-hander turns it straight into the hands of Marcus Harris at leg-slip.

    Good captaincy, well bowled.

  17. Division Two round-uppublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

Durham have reached 100-4, with David Bedingham moving into the 40s, in the early stages of the afternoon against Derbyshire.

Six overs gone now in Middlesex's second innings and they are 11-0, a lead of just eight over Worcestershire, who were all out for 191.

Still no respite for Leicestershire, with Sussex now 517-5 at Hove, and Delray Rawlins on 66 not out.

    Lancs v Somerset 403-9

A nice little hand from Jack Brooks to help his side to 400.

But not much more for him after lunch as the young left-arm spinner Jack Morely collects his second wicket.

    Somerset almost done.

  19. Postpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

    Hampshire 146-4 v Warwicks 217

Hampshire have made a positive start to the afternoon.

    Essex 229-3 v Gloucs 136

A single for Alastair Cook from a Tom Price no-ball brings Paul Walter onto strike and he opens his account with a well-timed clip through mid-wicket for four. The lead is now 93.
