Clearly the passing shower isn't in the mood to pass.
We still have no play at Scarborough, where Yorkshire are waiting to resume on 364-5 against Division One leaders Surrey.
Alastair Cook hits his 73rd first-class century for Essex against Gloucestershire
Yorkshire total 521 against Surrey; Lyth 183 and Tattersall 180 not out
England's Zak Crawley and Alex Lees out cheaply for Kent and Durham
Somerset's Lewis Goldsworthy out for 130 against Lancashire
Hampshire declare on 370-9, a lead of 153 over Warwickshire
Leicestershire's Callum Parkinson takes five wickets but Sussex total 588
Paul Grunill and Alex Winter

Essex 145-1 v Gloucs 136
Gloucestershire have wasted no time turning to spin and Zafar Gohar has just bowled a tidy maiden to Tom Westley.
The Essex skipper is 65 not out, one more than Alastair Cook, who hasn't seen quite as much of the strike so far this morning.
It was on 20 July last year that fast bowler Jofra Archer last played a game of cricket.
Wheely good to see him at Hove, and let's hope it won't be long before he's back out there in the middle, doing what he does best.
Kent 10-1 v Northants 303
How about that?
Both England Test openers gone cheaply within a minute of each other.
Sadly for Zak Crawley it's another very poor dismissal.
He pushes hard at Jack White but it's a few mph slower than what he was used to coming down against India.
Tamely chips up a catch to midwicket.
Joy for White who signed a contract extension recently at Wantage Road - the club's latest "late find".
He's 30 and only playing his 11th first-class match.
Lees lbw Aitchison 7 (Durham 10-1 v Derbys 283)
We have the first wicket of the day and it's a big one as Durham's England opener departs at the Riverside.
Two balls after stroking Ben Aitchison away through the covers for four, Alex Lees is beaten by late movement in off the seam and is gone.
Hampshire 47-3 v Warwicks 317
Great shot by Kyle Abbott as he cracks away a short, wide delivery from Oliver Hannon-Dalby for four at the Ageas Bowl. A 'proper' batter couldn't have played it any better.
Somerset seamer Jack Brooks before the start of play in Southport or a WWE referee?
Essex 139-1 v Gloucs 136
Tom Price needs to keep the ball away from Tom Westley's leg stump.
A second boundary of the morning takes Essex into the lead and Westley to within one run of partner Alastair Cook's 62 not out.
Lancs v Somerset 303-5
Hasn't taken long for Somerset to raise a third batting point.
A boundary from Lewis Gregory gets them past 300.
Another one might be beyond them but if Gregory gets going perhaps not.
Hampshire 42-3 v Warwicks 217
Oliver Hannon-Dalby is one of the most consistent bowlers on the county circuit and it's no surprise to see him start day two at the Ageas Bowl with a maiden to Ian Holland.
Nightwatchman Kyle Abbott will face George Garrett in over two.
Essex 134-1 v Gloucs 136
Play under way in Chelmsford and Tom Westley picks up a couple from Tom Price's opening delivery before flicking the next off his hip for the day's first boundary.
Westley keeps the strike with a single to end the over and is now 57 not out. Just two more runs needed for parity.
Yorkshire 364-5 v Surrey
It's hard to believe after yesterday's sweltering heat but there is a bit of rain about on the Yorkshire coast. We must wait for the home side to resume their first innings.

We like a shot of optimism at the start of a day's play...
Essex 127-1 v Gloucs 136 (play starts 11:00)
Essex will be looking to grind down Gloucestershire after dominating the opening day's play in Chelmsford.
Simon Harmer took 5-44 as the visitors were bowled out in 39 overs and Alastair Cook and Tom Westley made unbeaten fifties as Essex all but cleared the deficit by the close.
"There were some poor shots on offer on their side, which I'm sure they'll rectify second innings," Westley told BBC Essex.
"But that is the beauty of the reputation Harmer has. I believe he's the best spinner in the world. I think his name alone gets him a couple of wickets before he's even started bowling."

Yorkshire 364-5 v Surrey (play starts 11:00)
Yorkshire wicketkeeper Jonny Tattersall said his initial intention had been to "soak up a bit of pressure" after hitting an unbeaten 104 on day one against Surrey at Scarborough.
They were struggling on 125-5 when Tattersall joined Adam Lyth in the middle and the pair shared an unbroken stand of 239 to the close.
"I just wanted to go in and rebuild and I think we did that," he told BBC West Yorkshire Sport.
"Lythy just continued the way he was playing, he played beautifully all day and when I got into my rhythm and started to score a bit quicker we had a good run rate."
Hampshire 42-3 v Warwicks 217 (play starts 11:00)
The opening day of the match between second-placed Hampshire and last season's champions at the Ageas Bowl produced some highly competitive cricket.
The home side were well on top when Warwickshire were 104-7, but Nathan McAndrew led a fightback with 63 and then picked up one of the three Hampshire wickets to fall before the close.
Kyle Abbott took 5-45 for Hampshire earlier in the day and here's his verdict on how the game is shaping up.

After yesterday's scorcher, it looks like the Championship games in the south can expect similar conditions today - but maybe a little bit of temperature respite for teams playing at northern grounds. Let's hope the rain stays away, though.

D2: Sussex 407-4 v Leicestershire (play starts 11:00)
Sussex batter Tom Alsop said the win over Derbyshire at the end of last month had given them a huge boost of confidence after he made 150 on the opening day against Leicestershire.
The victory was their first in the Championship this season and he told BBC Sussex: "It was massive - I don't think you can really underestimate the effect, especially on a youngish squad.
"Four-day cricket is very hard work and that's why it's probably the most rewarding format, when you do get over that line."
On his own innings, he added: "It's an exceptional track, lovely batting track. They probably didn't bowl as well as they hoped to, especially in the morning session."
