    Essex 310 v Gloucs 136 & 175-7

You don't see that very often - Tom Price belts two successive Simon Harmer deliveries over mid-wicket for six.

And then to prove he has other shots at well he drives twice past mid-off for fours.

That's 20 from the over and Gloucestershire avoid an innings loss - they are one run in front.

  2. Division Two round-uppublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

Matt Salisbury has taken an early wicket for Durham, trapping Luis Reece lbw for 12, and Derbyshire are 25-3, just 12 in front.

Eddie Byrom is just four runs short of 50 for Glamorgan, who are 84-0, a lead of 117 over Nottinghamshire.

Middlesex's Tom Helm has fallen to Charlie Morris for a duck - his second wicket of the morning - and they are 202-8, 199 ahead against Worcestershire.

Louis Kimber has gone at Hove, lbw to Steven Finn for 102, and Leicestershire are 178-2, still 410 behind.

    Kent 302-6 v Northants 303

There are two types of leave...

Jordan Cox shoulders arms to Jack White, and the Northants seamer gets one to nip back off the pitch and splatter Cox's stumps.

George Linde strides out to the middle to join Sam Billings.

    Sibley c Brown v Abbas 1 (Hants 370-9 dec v Warwicks 217 & 19-1)

Dom Sibley pushes forward without getting his front foot to the pitch and a thin edge is gratefully snaffled by Ben Brown behind the stumps.

One run from 34 balls by the England opener, who hit 11 fours in his 56 on the opening day.

Warwickshire still 134 behind as Chris Benjamin comes to the crease.

Burns has 14 fours now, having been caught in the slips from a Gabriel no-ball on day two.

  9. Postpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

    Hampshire 370-9 dec v Warwicks 217 & 17-0

Very quiet start at the Ageas Bowl. Three overs completed, six runs added by Warwickshire. Alex Davies is 16 not out and Dom Sibley has one from 28 balls - very different to the frenetic start to his first-innings knock.

    O Price b Porter 43 (Essex 310 v Gloucs 136 & 146-7)

The first Gloucestershire wicket falls - but it isn't Simon Harmer who takes it. Pace bowler Jamie Porter produces a beauty to clip off stump and Ollie Price is on his way.

The visitors are still 28 behind with just three wickets left.

Luke Wells has his third century for Lancashire!

The second ball of the morning from Peter Siddle is edged through the slip cordon for four, and the Lancashire opener raises his bat to the Southport crowd.

Having passed three figures, he will want to kick on further on a flat pitch.

The first one of the day falls at Northwood as Charlie Morris nips one back off the seam and flattens Toby Rolandd-Jones' middle stump.

Was there a little inside edge? Looks like there might have been.

Middlesex are 181 ahead as Tom Helm comes out to bat.

You don't need to be a seaside clairvoyant to work out who is bowling the first over at Chelmsford. Simon Harmer, of course.

Ollie Price is 42 not out for Gloucestershire, with Zafar Gohar on 10.

  15. Wells on brink of Southport centurypublished at 10:53 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

    Lancashire 164-0 v Somerset 446 (play starts 11:00)

It's not an ideal situation to be 99 not out overnight - too much time to think about 100 etc etc.

Lancashire opener Luke Wells has been around the block a few times, though, and is confident he can avoid the fate of Hampshire's Ian Holland - who was out for 99 in their game with Warwickshire.

"I'd have preferred to get the 100, but I'd much rather be 99 not out than already out and sitting in the pavilion," the 31-year-old told BBC Radio Lancashire.

You can hear the full end-of-day-two interview with Luke below.

  16. Bears need solid batting displaypublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

    Hampshire 370-9 dec v Warwicks 217 & 11-0 (play starts 11:00)

    Oliver Hannon-DalbyImage source, Rex Features

Oliver Hannon-Dalby believes Warwickshire need to bat through the entire third day's play at the Ageas Bowl to have a chance of victory over Hampshire.

They will resume their second innings 142 behind and he told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire: "We've got to try and bat all day and then see where we are.

"I haven't seen too many (balls) misbehave, but if we're bowling last on it with any sort of lead, we'll hope to see a bit of uneven bounce."

Hannon-Dalby's 5-86 was his second Championship five-for of the season and he said: "The weather is glorious this week, not too conducive to fast bowling and long spells. It was a tough day, but I'm pleased to get the wickets."

  17. Right pace key at Chelmsford - Goharpublished at 10:46 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

    Essex 310 v Gloucs 136 & 140-6 (play starts 11:00)

    Zafar GoharImage source, Rex Features

Gloucestershire spinner Zafar Gohar reaped the benefits of studying Simon Harmer as he took 5-84 on day two against Essex.

Harmer has already claimed 10 wickets in the match to put Essex on course for a probable victory.

"You've got to bowl quite a different pace here. I watched Harmer in the first innings and tried to figure what pace I'd have to bowl," Gohar told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"I came out with that plan and tried to execute that same pace and it worked out pretty well, I guess."

  18. 'Chance came quickly' - Lawespublished at 10:43 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

    Yorkshire 521 v Surrey 191-1 (play starts 11:00)

    Tom LawesImage source, Getty

Surrey pace bowler Tom Lawes admitted his chance with the first team had "come very quickly" after taking 4-51 on day two in Scarborough.

He will be on a hat-trick - of sorts - if Yorkshire have to bat again after ending their first innings by dismissing Steven Patterson and Shannon Gabriel with successive deliveries.

The 19-year-old is playing only his second Championship game and was not over-bowled by skipper Rory Burns, sending down 13.2 of the 134 overs in the innings.

"Morning session, I was waiting for the nod from Burnsy, didn't get it, and then at lunch he told me to be ready to bowl at the top end and I was well up for it," he told BBC Radio London.

  19. Mackintosh makes mark on Durham debutpublished at 10:40 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

    D2: Durham 296 v Derbyshire 283 & 19-2 (play starts 11:00)

    Tom MackintoshImage source, Getty Images

Tom Mackintosh thanked team-mate Ben Raine for his calming words as he marked his Championship debut for Durham with a half-century on day two.

The 19-year-old scored 51 to help his side to a slender 13-run lead and then took two catches behind the stumps in the closing overs to take his match total to five so far.

"Batting with Ben is really good, he's always talking to me. When you're making your debut there's not many better people to be batting with," he told BBC Newcastle.

Mackintosh also enjoyed a partnership with Stanley McAlindon, 18, who is also playing his first game, and added: "He's my housemate as well so to be batting out there together was great."

  20. Weather outlookpublished at 10:35 British Summer Time 13 July 2022

From the BBC Weather website: "This afternoon, the north will see sunny spells and a few scattered showers. Mostly sunny and warm for southern areas, but cloudier in the far south. Staying very warm in the far south-east."
