    Yorks 0-0 (target 302 v Lancs)

The pressure now on Yorkshire debutant Fin Bean.

He made a good impression in the first innings and he will face Will Williams at the start of the second over.

    Three slips are in place.

  2. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Durham 13-0 (target 298) v Derbyshire

A lively start to Durham's second innings, with Michael Jones crashing three boundaries from Nick Potts' first over.

In theory, no reason why Durham shouldn't have a tilt at this target, with 85 overs still to be bowled - but it's Derbyshire whose need for victory is more urgent as they bid to boost their promotion chances.

  3. dropped catch

Immediate let-off for Lythpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Yorks 0-0 (target 302 v Lancs)

    Would you believe it.

Tom Bailey finds the edge of Adam Lyth's bat with his first delivery, but Josh Bohannon drops the catch.

Lancashire can't afford many of those if they are to win the game.

  4. Postpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Somerset 5-0 (target 375 v Gloucs)

We are back in business at Taunton and Imam ul-Haq cover drives a swinging half-volley for four in David Payne's opening over.

Remember these teams are the bottom two in Division One so a win is vital - but especially so for Gloucestershire, given the number of points they have to make up.

WICKET Hogan c Haynes b Pennington 12published at 11:10 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Glamorgan 295 v Worcs 454-9

Well, it looks as though the contest at Cardiff is still alive as Glamorgan fall short of the follow-on target.

Michael Hogan is last man out, slapping a Dillon Pennington full toss to short midwicket where Jack Haynes takes a diving catch.

Chris Cooke finishes unbeaten on 51 and, to nobody's surprise, Worcestershire have asked the home side to bat again, 159 behind.

  6. 50 runs

for Chris Cookepublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Glamorgan 293-9 v Worcs 454-9 dec

Never mind two batting points - Glamorgan are now eyeing a third, with Chris Cooke and Michael Hogan rattling along nicely.

Cooke has just carved Ben Gibbon to the boundary to bring up his fifth half-century of the season from 96 balls, while Hogan straight-drove the same bowler for six.

The home side need another 12 to avoid the follow-on and that, you feel, would seal this game's fate as a draw.

  7. Lancashire declare in Roses matchpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Lancs 276 & 280-5 v Yorks 255

Only ones and twos from Jonny Tattersall's over but Lancashire decide that with the lead now over 300, it's time to call a halt.

Steven Croft is left five runs short of 50, while Dom Bess' final figures for Yorkshire are 3-84.

5 Live commentator Kevin Howells says Yorkshire's over rate at the time of the declaration was -1, so that may cost them a point.

The White Rose will need to score 302 to win.

  8. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Lancs 276 & 274-5 v Yorks 255

A cute reverse sweep by Steven Croft, deliberately played fine, brings him another four off Dom Bess.

He is 41 not out and Lancashire lead by 295.

Ben Raine finishes with 5-43 as Nick Potts swings one into the hands of third man - and that's the end of the Derbyshire innings, with the declaration following immediately.

That means Durham will need 298 to win, with 87 overs scheduled.

George Lavelle's innings last just three deliveries.

Steven Croft sweeps Jonny Tattersall for one to post a 50 partnership with Dane Vilas.

But it comes to an end on 57 as Vilas makes room to try and cut, but it's too close to him for the shot and he is bowled.

  13. wicket

    Derbyshire 306 & 212-8 v Durham 223

First success of the morning for Durham as Ben Raine rips out Anuj Dal's off stump and Derbyshire are eight down.

The question is how long the home side will continue batting? Their overall lead is 295. And the weather forecast later is not promising...

  14. Gloucestershire declarepublished at 10:52 British Summer Time 8 September 2022

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 279-7 dec
