    Hameed squeezes a ball from Pennington between bat and pad and it trickles away to fine leg for four.

    Will Young plays forward defensively but the ball finds the edge and Tom Abell gathers the catch safely at second slip.

    Overton now has 4-22 from 11 and a bit overs and is looking every inch an international bowler.

    Hameed is up on his toes and across to slap a short ball from Pennington through point for four runs.

    Tom Moores plays out a maiden against Josh Tongue at the other end.

    It was a little gloomy at New Road but its lighter now.

    Notts may well be in the middle for another hour - unless Worcestershire can finish them off beforehand.

    It's a good decision from the umpire - looks to be heading miles down leg.

    Joe Weatherley is unperturbed at the other end - he whips McKerr for four through the leg side.

    The is just what Northants needed - a significant partnership and Saif Zaib square cut Craig Overton for four to take the total past 150.

    He is 26 not out and has so far added 58 with skipper Will Young, who has advanced to 80.

    Here's the state of play at Cardiff and Chester-le-Street...

    The Durham lead has passed 200 at home to Sussex, who are now 236 adrift with the hosts on 398-6.

    Play is currently suspended due to bad light and Chris Benjamin is 51 not out.

    Derbyshire are battling to save the game at Sophia Gardens, where the visitors are 92-5 and 458 adrift of a mammoth Glamorgan 550-5 declared in which David Lloyd scored 313 not out.

    Luis Reece has top scored for the visitors with 56 and Ajaz Patel has taken 2-26.

    Dan Worrall produces a very similar delivery to the one which bowled Fin Bean, but Adam Lyth plays it a little later and is able to drive it away for four.

    Kemar Roach sends down a half-volley to George Hill at the start of the next over with the same outcome.
