    It is perhaps worth pointing out at this stage that should Hampshire lose their home game against Kent, Surrey could be crowned 2022 champions if they beat Yorkshire.

    Defeat for Hampshire would mean they only take three points - and their maximum total, assuming they win with 24 next week, would be 244.

    Surrey already have 225, so 20 points from their match at the Micky Stewart Oval would be enough.

    Of course, Hampshire could yet turn the tables on Kent......
