  1. Target under 200published at 12:06 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 182-7 v Kent 165 & 269

James Fuller squirts one down to the vacant boundary area at third and that brings Hampshire's target down to a mere 196 runs.

Fuller is on 19 off 18 balls. He is used to playing cameos in white-ball cricket, but he needs something more substantial today.

Ben Sanderson hits Kasey Aldridge to Sonny Baker at mid-on and Northants are down to their final pair. Jack White is off the mark with three from his first delivery and Tom Taylor is still there on 60 not out.

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 192-5

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Anuj Dal and Harry Came have battled away to get Derbyshire through the first 90 minutes of a marathon operation to avoid defeat in Cardiff.

Dal reached his half-century off 113 balls while the obdurate Came took 168 balls to get to 50 as he eventually smacked a couple of Andrew Salter full-tosses through mid-wicket.

New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel has been turning the ball gently but the batters have been able to play him off the back foot.

Glamorgan are now hoping the new ball will pay dividends after failing to take a wicket since the 26th over.

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 141-5

Jonny Tattersall punches Jordan Clark down the ground for four. It's the first Yorkshire boundary for quite a while and they need another 14 runs to clear the deficit.

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 114-9

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 114-9 - lead by 133

Hannon-Dalby gets off the mark with a streaky four, edged low and just past slip off the bowling of Zafar.

The lead is 133. How many will be enough, though?

50 for Harry Camepublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 182-5

This has been a chastening game for Derbyshire, but Harry Came has toughed it out for a valuable 50 with a lofted drive over wide mid on off the bowling of Andrew Salter.

That's his fourth four and he reaches the milestone in 168 balls.

    Hampshire 57 & 170-7 v Kent 165 & 269

A couple of classic James Vince shots, one through the covers and then one through midwicket off Conor McKerr.

He takes a single before James Fuller finishes the over with successive boundaries.

17 off an expensive McKerr over.

  10. wicket

WICKET Malan c Ackermann b Parkinson 2published at 11:51 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Leicestershire 294 v Middlesex 297 & 44-3

    Callum Parkinson has another one.

This is a straightforward dismissal as Pieter Malan nicks behind to Colin Ackermann for a far simpler slip catch than his earlier one.

Leicestershire are having a good morning at Grace Road.

  11. wicket

WICKET Davies lbw b Zafar 60published at 11:50 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 110-8 - lead by 128

Breakthrough! Zafar tosses the ball right up to Davies who declines the drive and is late to defend.

The ball appears to canon into the boot and the umpire raises the finger of doom.

The Warwickshire number 10 is Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

    Somerset 389 v Northants 251-8

    Sajid KhanImage source, Getty Images

    Oh dear, oh dear.

Tom Taylor plays Sajid Khan to leg, takes two steps forward, then changes his mind about a run.

Unfortunately, partner Lizaad Williams is already half-way down and he is beaten by Josh Davey's throw to Khan at the bowler's end.

Ben Sanderson cuts Tom Abell down to third man for four in the next over as Northants achieve a second batting point.

  13. Postpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 110-7 - lead by 129

Henry Brookes is going well here. He has 27 runs out of a partnership of 37 with Alex Davies.

Alex Davies gets a single off Payne to backward point and Brookes ducks under a bouncer.

The last ball is driven through extra cover for four. He's on 32 now.

  14. Postpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 126-5

Was that a dropped catch? Maybe it didn't quite carry

Jordan Clark finds the edge of Jonny Tattersall's bat but the ball escapes Ryan Patel's grab in the slips and the Yorkshire skipper takes one.

  15. wicket

WICKET Eskinazi c Budinger b Parkinson 5published at 11:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Leicestershire 294 v Middlesex 297 & 32-2

A wicket for the Foxes captain.

Stevie Eskinazi tries to sweep Callum Parkinson but gets it wrong as he all manages to do is tamely loop the ball into the hands of Sol Budinger at short leg.

Middlesex lead by 35, so this game is nicely poised.

  16. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Somerset 389 v Northants 247-7

Well batted Tom Taylor and Lizaad Williams, who have saved Northants from the possibility of following on at Taunton.

Williams hits Tom Abell for four and their partnership is now worth 63 - he has 23 and Taylor is 59 not out.

    Breaking

    Worcs 390 v Notts 128 & 183

Notts will remain Division Two leaders but this has been a chastening defeat little more than an hour into day three.

Last batter Dane Paterson tries to drive Waite off the back foot and nicks a catch to Roderick behind the timers.

Three wickets each for Waite and Gibbon in this innings. Four each for Pennington and Barnard in the first.

That's a seventh catch of the game for the keeper and the Pears have their fourth win of the season.

    Surrey man Conor McKerr strikes!

He gets one to jag back in and as it keeps low, it hits Aneurin Donald on the pads and umpire Rob Bailey has no hesitation in raising his finger.

A first Kent wicket for McKerr.

Hampshire somehow need 232 runs with only three wickets in hand.

Successive maidens from Tongue and Waite as the Pears wrestle back some of the initiative after a swashbuckling 9th wicket stand.

Out now as Jake Ball fences outside off and feathers the ball to the keeper for his sixth catch of the match.

  20. Fixture imbalance in the title racepublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 142-6 v Kent 165 & 269

One thing to ponder about the schedule being discussed by BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James concerns the fixture imbalance in a ten-team 14-game Championship season.

This season's top three, Surrey, Hampshire and Lancashire, will only face each other once.

Surrey thrashed Hants at The Oval in April, the same month in which Hants drew with Lancashire at the Ageas Bowl.

The Red Rose are yet to even play Surrey, with their match taking place next Monday at Old Trafford in the final round of games.
